Jail Time for Offending Transsexuals in Norway

The problem with having other people defend your liberty is that you may be left with so little appreciation for its value that you end up throwing it away voluntarily. Consider Norway. Under the infamous Vidkun Quisling, it put up no official resistance to Nazi occupation. Fortunately for Norwegians, others defeated the Nazis and handed them their freedom back. But it only took 75 years for Norway to degenerate into this:

Without even holding a formal vote, Norway’s parliament “outlawed hate speech against transgender people” last week, including in private conversations. Those found guilty will face fines and up to a year in jail for private remarks and three years for public remarks.

Say anything that militant sexual deviants don’t want heard and you will literally be thrown in jail.

There was less shame in submitting to Nazis. At least there was the excuse that defying the Nazis got people killed.
