Public School Fifth Graders Taught Black Radicalism

Back in the 60s and 70s, when the Black Panther Party was harassing police, engaging in all manner of violence, and bellowing menacingly about America’s allegedly racist power structure as it attempted to ignite a race war, no one would have imagined putting these malevolent maniacs in charge of educating fifth graders. That was then; this is now:

A Philadelphia elementary school recently forced fifth-grade students to celebrate “black communism” and simulate a Black Power rally in honor of political radical Angela Davis.

Angela Davis is a communist who provided the weapons Black Panthers used to kill a judge. She is now a member in good standing of the academic establishment at the University of California.

According to whistleblower documents and a source within the school, a fifth-grade teacher at the inner-city William D. Kelley School designed a social studies curriculum to celebrate Davis, praising the “black communist” for her fight against “injustice and inequality.”

Students are asked to “define communism.” They are unlikely to get a gold star if they answer correctly, “the most tyrannical form of totalitarianism yet devised.”

At the conclusion of the unit, the teacher led the ten- and eleven-year-old students into the school auditorium to “simulate” a Black Power rally to “free Angela Davis” from prison, where she had once been held while awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder.

As for learning anything constructive at the William D. Kelley School, only 13% of students achieve basic literacy by graduation. Meanwhile,

Administrators recently commissioned a mural of Davis and Huey P. Newton, who represent the Communist and Black Panther revolutionary movements of the 1960s; both figures stood trial for various crimes, including the murder of a police officer.

This rot is endemic throughout the Philadelphia public schools. The local teachers’ union explicitly calls for revolution against the “racist structure of capitalism.”

With radicals now in control of the federal Department of Education, the rot will soon be endemic throughout the country, if it isn’t already.
