Most of this fraud could have been prevented by using better technology. Ballot scanning machines should secretly alert authorities when batches of votes overwhelmingly favor one candidate. Ballots should have encrypted unique identifiers and the chain of custody of ballots tablets should be tracked electronically so that counterfeit ballots can be detected by the canners and rejected and vote irregularities can be traced back to the ballot issuer. Central computers in each state should be the only thing voting machines are connected to through dedicated lines, like virtual terminals.
