Apple Pie Denounced as Racist

Given that Old Glory sends liberals into paroxysms of horror and that the concept of motherhood is regarded as so obscene that the term “birthing people” is used in place of “mothers,” Ben Shapiro tweeted this yesterday:

Wrong. The Guardian, flagship publication of Britain’s liberal establishment, proclaims that apple pie is not merely racist but genocidal against sacred indigenous people.

The Daily Mail reports:

Writing in the famously liberal publication, food writer Raj Patel claimed the all-American dessert was born of colonialism and slavery…

The piece, titled ‘Food injustice has deep roots: let’s start with America’s apple pie’, claims the pie has ‘bloody origins’ and is ‘as American as stolen land, wealth and labor.’

“Food injustice.” Inside their bubble of mutual masturbation, elitist moonbats have no idea how absurd they are from the perspective of sane people.

Despite loathing America for being the land of stolen land, wealth, and labor,

Patel is a British Indian author and documentary maker … who now has US citizenship…

Why do we import foreigners who hate us? It’s not as if we have a shortage of moonbats. Patel’s contributions to his adopted country have not been notably positive:

[Patel] is also a vocal activist, taking part in the World Trade Organization protest in Seattle in 1999…

That was a prequel to the BLM/Antifa riots that have torn apart Seattle over the past year. Patel says he has “very strong anarchist sympathies.” Antifa militants often call themselves anarchists.

‘Apples traveled to the western hemisphere with colonists in the 1500s in what used to be called the Columbian Exchange, but is now better understood as a vast and ongoing genocide of Indigenous people.’

In reality, the expansion of Western Civilization is the best thing that ever happened to the human race. Prior to it, life was nasty, brutish, and short, as Thomas Hobbes put it. The world has electricity, limited government, and modern food, medicine, and transportation thanks to what ungrateful moonbats call “genocide.”

The author went on to say that English colonizers used apple trees ‘as markers of civilization, which is to say property,’ in new lands where they settled.

Cultivating wilderness equals stealing land, because “property is theft,” according to French anarchist Pierre-Joseph Proudhon.

He added: ‘John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, took these markers of colonized property to the frontiers of US expansion where his trees stood as symbols that Indigenous communities had been extirpated.’

By eating apple pie, you endorse the extirpation of the noble nonwhites.

Even the crust on apple pie is politically unclean:

Patel continued: ‘Not that the sugar on the crust is uniquely American.’ He then detailed how sugar’s arrival in the United States in the 1700s was inextricably linked to the French slavery trade in New Orleans, and that the Big Easy ‘had become a concomitant hub of the slave trade’ as the sweet stuff’s popularity burgeoned.

As for the checked gingham cloth upon which an apple pie may be left to cool in a traditional American kitchen, that is cultural appropriation:

He explained that Native Americans were already wearing cotton by the time Christopher Columbus landed in America in 1492, with the pattern itself likely originating from southeastern Asia.

Patel links the cotton of which such cloth is made to “genocide against millions of Indigenous people in North America, and millions of Africans and their descendants through the transatlantic slave trade.” Cotton allegedly “laid the basis of finance, police and government that made the United States,” which is not so much a country as an abomination against political correctness.

There is no aspect of American civilization that they will not vilify and demonize. Criticizing everything with the relentlessness of rust is the “critical theory” approach to destroying society so that they can replace it with a socially engineered leftist dystopia.
