Support the Unnecessary Agency Regulations Reduction Act, S. 2239, and H.R. 4132

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and representative and ask them to cosponsor the Unnecessary Agency Regulations Reduction Act, S. 2239, and H.R. 4132, introduced by Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.). This bill would make cutting red tape a priority for Congress by streamlining the elimination of outdated, duplicative, and burdensome regulations.

The Unnecessary Agency Regulations Reduction Act requires the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) to compile a list of burdensome, duplicative, and outdated agency regulations to be included in the President’s Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions. These suggestions are sent to the relevant congressional committees for review and incorporated into a joint resolution.

This legislation would ensure that the joint resolution is privileged and is therefore eligible for expedited consideration in both chambers of Congress. Where there are identified outdated regulations, it is unconscionable for Congress not to act swiftly and get these regulations off the books.

There is no shortage of burdensome regulations on our economy. Unfortunately, far too many regulations are duplicative, outdated, and altogether unnecessary. It is the responsibility of Congress to ensure that rolling back such excessive regulations is as efficient as possible.

The Unnecessary Agency Regulations Reduction Act is a common-sense measure that makes efficiency and a free economy a priority for lawmakers.

For these reasons, I urge you to contact your senators and representative and ask them to cosponsor the Unnecessary Agency Regulations Reduction Act, S. 2239, and H.R. 4132.
