Has anyone checked on why these churches were built there? Sometimes churches were built to consecrate the land where atrocities happened to atone for those. One example is the Carmelite convent built at Auschwitz for that reason; are the nuns guilty of killing all those Jews? No. Perhaps those churches were trying to do something good?
