Christopher Columbus brought Christianity to the new world. That is the greatest contribution to mankind. The lesser Catholic conquering nations such as Portugal, Holland, France, or the Protestant nations had sadly slavery in their “colonies”. The undoing of slavery is a combat that only a few saints were about to diminish, such as St. Peter Claver, confessor, a Jesuit Priest who spent 40 years laboring for the salvation of the African Negroes and the abolition of the Negro trade in Brasil, which as that time had taken tremendous proportions. The term “colony” is un-Catholic because it represents an exploitation of both mineral and human resources leading to an impoverishment as well as demoralizing of the conquered lands. The proposal of bringing the enslaving “Chinese ideal” is absolutely devilish and condemnable besides being irresponsible.for the wellfare of the whole world.
