I’ve read many books by authors talking about the bible. Nothing beats the bible. Why go to another source, for example, to learn about Jesus vs the book that contains his direct quotes?
There have been many great Christian authors like CS Lewis. I don’t knock what they do, but one should be primarily concerned with finding their own answers from the bible rather than giving their faith away for someone else to interpret.
The church groups have the same problem in that people are listening to the preacher rather than reading the bible themselves to develop their own answers.

I get your feeling but the devil really could have given Christ the world without his going to the cross or it would have been no temptation as it was.
