The Supreme Court just issued a 6-3 opinion in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association. v. Bruen. At issue is New York’s “proper cause requirement” which forces applicants to prove “a special need for self protection distinguishable from that of the general community” in order “to obtain an unrestricted license to ‘have and carry’ a concealed ‘pistol or revolver’.” The opinion ruled that the requirement “violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms in public for self-defense.” Jay, Jordan, and the rest of the Sekulow team discuss and give their expert constitutional analysis of this significant Supreme Court opinion.

Hmmm…..at least occasionally they do things right (I suppose they have to throw us some bread crumbs from time-to-time to keep us pacified).
The purpose of the 2nd Amendment was the right of citizens to bear arms for the security of a free State. That right cannot be infringed by any body of government.
Conceal carry is another matter but it still cannot infringe on the rights of people to bear arms in any way. Nothing about self-defense is mentioned in the 2nd Amendment.
In theory, you’re right. But consider what other rights they’ve managed to suspend/diminish without any consideration to the Constitution. It’s only good insomuch as we’re willing to enforce it. Sadly, I don’t see too many that are even aware of what’s being done to them. Those that are seem to be more focused on hunkering down, ‘prepping’, and weathering the approaching storm. In all honesty, the latter probably has the right idea. Our elections are rigged, and hopes of voting the a$$wipes out of office is essentially moot at this point. Just start buying lots of canned food when your budget allows, and get some weapons. I can’t buy firearms because I’ve been diagnosed with clinical depression in my state (but dammit, I got myself a crossbow and a few katana blades). Nice to see you again btw, Slimey.
