GENERAL OUTLOOK

Seasonably hot and muggy conditions will continue, with heat index rising above 100 in the Piedmont each of the next few afternoons under a hot high pressure ridge. Isolated or widely scattered showers and thunderstorms return this afternoon. Better chances for afternoon storms return Monday into Wednesday as a weak front enters the region from the northwest.
