I can confirm this in the southern hemisphere. I’m in south eastern Australia. I would usually be cutting pasture hay in the first week of November and that is more often than not the end of the growing season. If we have unseasonal rain, there will be a little more growth, but the heat will often burn it off before Christmas. This year, it’s too wet to get onto the paddocks to harvest or cut. Plus grass is still in full growth stage. Temps in October would usually reach 30 degrees C for several days and the average might be mid 20s. This season we have only reached 20 about 4 days, and the day after tomorrow we are forecast 10 degrees, which is about as low as it gets in winter. It’s extremely unseasonal. I won’t say we never have a cool change come through in spring, but consistent temps below 20 is something I haven’t experienced.
