What seems to have escaped Derek’s attention is that the military isn’t exactly operating under military law. That jab they forced on the military is illegal. You cannot experiment on the military. When Mille and the joint chiefs signed that letter after the election, confirming that Biden was the new president, I think that’s when the military turned on Trump. The military isn’t supposed to be political and that letter was unprecedented. What does Trump expect when he humiliates those generals – Kelly and “Mad Dog” – publicly? That’s against military etiquette and I’m sure it made the other generals more than a little nervous about Trump. I’ve read that there’s a rift in the military. Those for Biden and those for Trump. But Trump’s not the president and to think the president isn’t in charge of the military is ludicrous. Our constitution calls for civilian leadership of the military. Derek’s wrong when he says the generals can do whatever they want. That’s just incorrect. And, by the way, technically the president is only the CIC during wartime. That also has been abused. Congress confirmed Biden. If the military gave him a funeral that’s a coup.
