GENERAL OUTLOOK
Northwest flow precipitation will continue through early this morning along the Tennessee border. Winds will increase and become gusty as cooler high pressure pushes into the region today, with frequent strong gusts across the mountains. The high pressure will maintain dry conditions through much of the workweek and the eventual return of springlike temperatures Tuesday. Another cold front will arrive on Friday, bringing the next chance for rainfall.

Sunny, with highs in the lower 60s. Winds out of the northwest 5 to 10 mph.

* WHAT…Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. A few ridgetops could see peak gusts up to 60 mph.
* WHERE…Most of the western North Carolina mountains.
* WHEN…From 6 AM Sunday to noon EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
