Inside Boeing

This was sent to me by a good friend who wishes to remain anonymous, but wanted to share just how bad things are going in his place of work:
After watching our CEO Mr. Calhoun, testify before Senator Hawley, I can still see a huge disconnect from upper echelon of Boeing and the reality of what goes on. It is helping push me to say what little I know so the public and our Air Force will know some of the same things plague us here on the BDS (defense) side too.
They are constantly using the words “safety” and “quality” like that’s their emphasis, but their actions are the opposite. They’re more focused on pulsing the jet (moving it down the line to the next station) than completing it, thereby making a hasty mess at the end that needs to be done in a rush.
The substations that start the build up of the sections of the jet, (F15 in this case), have been found to have a severe issue in the area of the landing gear bracing. The bolt holes are not made straight, smooth and kept to the tight tolerance. The stress the landing gear takes is great, and we can only guess how this will affect the life of the aircraft. The worst part of this though is we have some managers and engineers that are trying to push this along and cover it up, holding up for their dept. making the same repeated mistakes. How would the Air Force like it to know their new EX models are coming out “woke” ready?
I say that because there’s a whole bunch more focus on DEI, pronouns and gay pride than actual work and quality, no matter what they say. When Boeing/McDonnell Douglas was great, it was because they expected people to work, held everyone accountable for their actions and produced. Now we have so many managers it’s insane. Push push push, but not for actual quality but just down the line; more concerned about not offending a person than getting after them to make them work and perform like they should. The myriads of managers and egotistical engineers don’t communicate with each other and only want their piece to move, regardless of completion. Bonuses are at stake, and not for the workers.
The lack of quality personnel they’ve been hiring is evident, just as their DEI focus, and it’s manifesting in the fact that we’re producing sub-par quality and have made up jobs for ethics stuff and we’re way behind the schedule for production. We used to crank out 2-4 F15’s per month and now we can’t do 1 every other month. God forbid if there was actual stress of necessity like a war and we needed these. They have made so many processes to processes on top of processes, they slow themselves down and can’t get it why, but still want to push this thing along.
There’s so many meetings it’s absolutely asinine. Tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, then another one and by the time it’s over its lunch time, then another meeting an hour after that, then another hour and that’s the day. So many managers not managing but bonus driven and willing to cover stuff up, in meetings most of the day just talking about things. The good managers are not allowed to lead because of feelings and the good ol’ boys club and the DEI army. So it’s a constant push, cover stuff and watch it go down the toilet; but these are supposed to be tight tolerance high performance fighter aircraft. Heard it’s the same on the T-7 and the new MQ-25 UAV refueling drone. We’re screwed if the military needs jets in a hurry because upper Boeing is focused on pro-nouns and feelings and their bonuses and not actual quality like they say. Actions speak louder than words.
