Dozens of arsons and now murder shootings, bombs again. They are only following their sacred texts, after all.

Most accounts scrub the Islamic motive as is the way in the leftwing media.

The Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) is an armed Islamic-separatist organization fighting to create an independent Muslim state of “Patani” in southern Thailand. Its jihadis have carried out bombings, assassinations, arson attacks, and repeated attacks on civilians, including Buddhist monks, teachers, children.

But The BRN (Barisan Revolusi Nasional) are the most dominant armed Islamic separatist group fighting in Thailand’s southernmost provinces.

Their primary goal is to establish an independent Islamic state separate from the Thai state.

Security authorities are investigating a car bomb attack outside the old Tanyong Police Station in Muang district, Narathiwat province, that injured one police officer and damaged government property. Summary of the incident: Throwing a bomb, shooting spree, 5 soldiers killed, 5 villagers injured, including 1 10-year-old child, Amphoe Rango, Narathiwat Province, before setting fire to the vehicle to destroy evidence

At around 6:45 PM today, suspected BRN insurgents (some disguised as women wearing hijabs) rode a motorcycle and opened fire on Ranger Forces at the Buke Sami checkpoint in Ra-ngae District.

1 10-year-old child severely injured
2 civilians injured

Assailants kill five paramilitary rangers in Narathiwat attack

CCTV footage shows a black pickup truck carrying six black-clad assailants moments before they launched a gun and pipe bomb attack on a security checkpoint in Narathiwat province, killing five paramilitary rangers and injuring two civilians on Wednesday.

Five Thai paramilitary rangers were killed and two civilians were injured after six assailants attacked a security checkpoint with gunfire and pipe bombs in the southernmost province of Narathiwat at around 7pm today.

Preliminary reports showed the assailants, dressed in black, arrived in a black four-door Nissan pickup truck before opening fire and hurling pipe bombs at the Buketa Sami municipal checkpoint in Tanyong Mat municipality, Ra-ngae district.

The checkpoint is operated by Ranger Company 4509.

Five rangers on duty were killed in the attack, while two civilians, including a 10-year-old boy, were injured. Rescue workers rushed the injured to a hospital for treatment.

After the attack, the assailants fled in the pickup truck along Highway 4055 from Tanyong Mat to Dusong Yo subdistrict.

Security forces have sealed off the area, examined the crime scene and are collecting forensic evidence as the investigation continues.
