That is Sayed’s argument for sex change child mutilation surgeries. As if circumcision is the same as castration.

There are sentences one expects to hear in a United States Senate campaign.

And then there are sentences that, until Monday night, had probably never been uttered during one.

During a live interview on his show, Fox News host Jesse Watters asked Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, “So you think it’s OK for a parent to slash his kid’s ding-a-ling off?”

El-Sayed responded with a question of his own: “Are you circumcised?”

Welcome to the 2026 midterms.

It’s only going to go downhill from here.

The exchange was typical of the dodge-and-weave strategy El-Sayed used throughout the Democratic primary race, as he smugly evaded tough and rational questions about his policy positions on hot-button issues.

El-Sayed wasn’t just unprepared to answer questions on transgender medical interventions for children; he was equally unable to intelligently discuss Sharia law, reparations, healthcare costs and windmills on Lake Michigan.

His smarmy performance has been a gift to Republicans who see in the candidate a dark turn toward a new generation of extremists running as Democrats: elites promoting socialism while remaining deeply disconnected from the concerns of everyday Americans.

Fractured voter base

But it’s the issue of transgender “treatment” of children that presents Democrats with a real risk of coalitional fracture — and El-Sayed’s response to Watters indicated how unprepared they are for that eventuality.

Consider the voters El-Sayed is courting in Michigan: progressives in college towns like Ann Arbor and religious Muslim voters in places like Dearborn.

Democrats are counting on the latter to come through for them in November — but outside of a shared hostility toward Israel, the two groups have remarkably little in common.

El-Sayed’s quip comparing gender-reassignment surgery to circumcision served as a detonation device between the two groups.

Circumcision is, after all, one of the few religious practices Jews and Muslims emphatically share.

For Jews, brit milah is a 4,000-year-old covenant stretching back to Abraham, traditionally performed on a baby boy’s eighth day of life.

For Muslims, circumcision is likewise an ancient and overwhelmingly observed religious tradition, rooted in the sunnah and practiced throughout the Muslim world.

Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed got truly bizarre Monday night in trying to dodge a question about his support for trans-ing children, a fresh sign of how all Democrats should be repudiating him: Why are they so afraid?

El-Sayed and his advisers thought they’d come up with a great way to answer questions about surgically removing children’s private parts: Explain that it’s just like circumcision.

Seriously: Fox News host Jesse Watters brought up outlawing sex-change surgery for kids, and El-Sayed replied, “Are you circumcised?”

He then airily advised, “You probably should want to move on,” proceeding to declare that anyone refusing to see that both are simply “surgery on a kid’s ding-a-ling” is just being “really selective about these things.”

Nobody not totally blinded by ideology would equate circumcision, a procedure recommended by most medical professionals because of its health benefits, with removal of male sexual organs — a procedure utterly lacking any medical justification. (The supposed scientific support for treating juvenile gender dysphoria with transitions was purely an insider con game.)

Yet El-Sayed is so deep in the weird zone that he thinks this is a winning argument: Nobody should trust his judgment on anything.

Of course, the health policy he most wants to talk about is also divorced from reality: His campaign centers on pushing Medicare for All — a scheme to impose the socialized medicine disasters of Britain and Canada on the United States, which would not only kick everyone off their current insurance but also require roughly doubling US taxation.

A sane party would run screaming from a candidate like this.

Especially, of course, since (as the bizarre take on circumcision suggests) he also brings antisemitism to the table.

El-Sayed’s hatred of Jews has been blatant all campaign long, including his comment on the attempted mass murder of Jewish kids in his own state: “Hurt people hurt people” — rationalizing the Lebanese perp’s attempted atrocity by waving at Israeli fighting in Lebanon.

Plus his refusal to disavow his regular campaign surrogate, streamer Hasan Piker — even after Piker just threatened American Jews that if they support Israel “someone will come around and take action” against them.

El-Sayed only issued a statement saying he disagrees with that comment, and didn’t even name Piker.

He’s sadly not alone there: House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-B’klyn) also issued a statement disapproving of Piker without naming him.
