Blue wave in November less likely due to division within the Democratic Party

Scott Walter interviewed by NTD News

August 5, 2026

Democratic “blue wave” in the November midterm elections is less likely due to internal turmoil and ideological divisions within the party. Scott Walter goes on to say, “midterms, when you have the Whitehouse is always difficult for either political party.”

Breitbart breaks Capital Research Center’s deep dive election fraud report

CRC report, “Charities Influencing Elections,” cited in Breibart exclusive.

August 24, 2026

CRC researchers examined financial records from 83 of the leading 501(c)(3) voter-registration and get-out-the-vote organizations, finding that they spent approximately $638.7 million in 2024 — a 30 percent increase over 2020, or roughly 10 percent after inflation — even as inflation-adjusted spending through traditional political action committees fell by approximately 20 percent. The report argues that the tax-exempt infrastructure has increasingly been used to disproportionately benefit Democrats while offering advantages unavailable through conventional political organizations, including tax-deductible donations and far less donor disclosure.

“Americans deserve to know whether tax-deductible charitable contributions are being illicitly used to subsidize partisan political operations,” CRC President Scott Walter said in a statement provided to Breitbart News.

Left-wing voting machines exposed

Scott Walter interviewed by Just The News No Noise

August 25, 2026

A new report from the Capital Research Center has exposed left-wing billionaires for allegedly trying to influence elections through what they say are “Voting machines running through tax-exempt charities to get more democratic votes.”

Virginia redistricting fight offers rare window into the left’s election-funding machine

Scott Walter referenced in the Daily Signal

August 25, 2026

Democrats’ attempt to redraw Virginia’s congressional maps for the midterm elections ultimately failed, but the effort revealed an activist funding apparatus on the left.

“The big fight over redistricting in Virginia shows how unions and left-wing ‘dark money’ networks like the one run by Sunflower Services/Arabella work together as one Borg to benefit their preferred political party,” Scott Walter, president of the Capital Research Center, told the Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday.

The Capital Research Center released a report Monday highlighting the Left’s funding networks and the Virginia redistricting ballot initiative, in particular. Walter told the Daily Signal that his report shows how the Left can “quickly mobilize megadonors like George Soros and raise tens of millions of dollars, even for a project so dubious that the courts quickly quashed it.”

Who’s behind the case that could shut down American energy?

Capital Research Center cited in Deep Background

August 28, 2026

Oral arguments in the case will be heard by the Court on October 5. Amicus briefs filed by prominent climate activist non-profits and individuals such as Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser expose a deep web of ideologues who wish to impose liability on American energy companies, which produce yearly revenues of more than $436 million, according to Capital Research.

Democrats lost 2024—but their ‘charities’ won

Capital Research Center Cited in The Washington Examiner

September 3, 2026

The 2024 election was miserable for the Democratic Party. Enthusiasm was flat, voters checked out, and traditional Democratic fundraising was down 30% after inflation, compared to the 2020 cycle. But one piece of the operation did not just survive the year. It thrived. And it looks poised to be brighter still in 2026.

According to Capital Research Center’s latest special report, more than 80 left-wing groups doing primarily get-out-the-vote work raised nearly $640 million in 2024. That represents a 10% gain over 2020 after adjusting for inflation. Traditional Democratic fundraising over the same span saw revenues fall by roughly 30%.

Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz’s ‘effective altruism’ network tied to AI regulation push

Parker Thayer cited in Fox News

September 15, 2026

In response to former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon’s resignation announcement on X, Parker Thayer, an investigative researcher at Capital Research Center in Washington D.C., went viral as he raised questions about whether the resignation was part of a broader network that aims to influence lawmakers and AI policy.

Thayer quoted the post in a response that received interaction online with top lawmakers in Congress, including Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.

“This post looks like the start of a VERY sophisticated and well-funded PR operation to get support for Democrats to regulate AI into oblivion,” Thayer posted. “The post is punchy, quotable, it almost seems professionally written. The first three accounts to quote tweet it all do so within 15 minutes of the initial posting.” Thayer echoed claims made by White House AI advisor David Sacks that AI fears are overblown and potentially based on political motives.

Thayer said that if AI critics were truly afraid of a potential doomsday scenario, they would be advocating for the extinction of artificial intelligence altogether. Instead, he says that it is a tactic to increase the government’s power over the industry while also acting in their own interest so “that they’re the only ones who are allowed to build it.”

Government employees fight Trump’s reforms from within the executive branch

Michael Watson quoted in the Daily Signal

September 7, 2026

Michael Watson, research director for the Capital Research Center, told the Daily Signal that “it                   should not be surprising that the professional Left and the AFGE are working hand-in-glove,” given the ideological bent of the labor movement.

He said AFGE’s moves amount to “the representative organ of the federal civil service attempting to enact its own policy preferences through litigation.” He also noted, however, that the Trump administration “is attempting to weaken the power of unions like AFGE to carry out their own policy preferences against the policies laid out by the people’s elected representatives and the executive officers who have been chosen to carry out the laws made by Congress.”
