Police in Arizona have confirmed that a shooting at a Tucson gay bar that left three people dead, including the shooter, was a hate crime.
The suspect, 44-year-old Ousman Ceesay, was new to the Tucson area and did not know the victims, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release Tuesday night.
Ceesay came to the USA from Gambia around 2010.
While searching his home, detectives found a note that “indicated he acted alone and that this shooting was a targeted attack motivated by hate toward the LGBTQIA+ community,” the department said.

One of the victims, Cameron Capara, was a pro-illegal immigration, pro-Antifa, Gays for Gaza activist and journalist.
