Rapes and Murders 10-Year Old, Gets Special Privileges

Under liberal rule, no crime is so heinous that it disqualifies the fiends who commit them from special privileges. Shane Ertmoed of Surrey, British Columbia was convicted of raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl before dumping her body in Alouette Lake. Yet we read this at Daily Mail:

Ertmoed was granted 60 days of unescorted leave from prison on September 2 to work with a prestigious chef while serving his life sentence for the murder of Heather Thomas.

Ertmoed applied for the special privilege for the sake of “personal development for rehabilitative purposes.” To rehabilitate worst of the worst criminals who should have been executed, you have to cater to their personal development.

Only last year, Ertmoed was denied parole due to the threat he poses to public safety. But now,

The Parole Board approved the absence and concluded that he ‘will not pose an undue risk’ of reoffending, despite his case management team opposing the leave.

Looks like Ertmoed didn’t start right off with murder:

He had been arrested in 1998 at 19 years old for sexually assaulting a sleeping seven-year-old girl that he had been babysitting …

The charges did not proceed and he instead sought help from a counsellor…

He says he regrets not continuing with the counseling.

No worries:

Ertmoed has been taking medication to reduce sexual arousal…

If strangling your three kids like Lindsay Clancy can be attributed to the postpartum blues, raping children and throwing their corpses in the lake is surely just a matter of sexual arousal regulation. Why incarcerate when you can medicate?

This miscarriage of justice is not a one-off:

Just around one week after Ertmoed was granted his 60-day absence, the Parole Board granted the same allowance to Douglas Lambier, a repeat child sex offender who strangled a nine-year-old boy to death in 2005…

When progressives have finished progressing to utopia, no parole boards will be needed, because crime will be legalized — except of course thoughtcrime, for which there will be no parole.
