Episode 116: The Election and Bible Prophecy
Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 116
Gary discusses the aftermath of the 2026 midterm elections and how misinterpretations of Bible prophecy played a big part.
Christians should work to rebuild all institutions according to the blueprint laid down in Scripture. Too often we satisfy ourselves with occupying a square foot of living space in what we perceive to be the humanists’ palace. We fight for crumbs when Jesus tells us to sit with Him and feast in the presence of our enemies (Psalm 23:5; cf. Matthew 15:21-28).
We now live under a better covenant with a greater measure of God’s Spirit but it is supposed that our sphere of ministry has decreased. Israel was confined to the land of Canaan, but Jesus has given us the world and yet the impact we are to have as Christians, if we believe some of our critics, is to be minimal. But the kingdom is now: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). The kingdom comes and advances by doing God’s will. The devil only has a foothold when Christians fail to obey. When we resist the devil, he will flee from us. Satan’s counterfeit and corrupt kingdom is then supplanted by God’s rightful claim to the world. Resisting the devil is never passive.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5; cf. Psalm 37:11). Now, if the earth is ours as an inheritance, then why do we act as if the inheritance belongs to someone else? This passage does not say that the weak shall inherit the earth or the passive or the non-involved. Meekness is an ethical attribute. Meekness or being humble means to rely on God for all things. The Bible makes it clear that a double portion of a father’s inheritance goes to the faithful first-born son (Deuteronomy 21:17; see 2 Kings 2:9). If he is unfaithful, he can be disinherited (Deuteronomy 21:18-21). Reuben lost his right of inheritance because of immorality (Genesis 49:3-4); and Jacob gave Joseph a double portion because of his faithfulness and righteousness (Genesis 48: 22). Jesus, as God’s firstborn, receives a double portion. We, as God’s adopted children and brothers of Jesus, participate in the inheritance. If the nations are given to Jesus as an inheritance, then we participate in His inheritance (see Psalm 2). It is someone who submits to a greater authority in this case, to God (cf. Matthew 11:28f.; 2 Corinthians 10:1; Galatians 5:22ff.; Colossians 3:12; 1 Peter 3:15f.; James 1:19-21). The way we will inherit the earth is by obeying God in all things, humbly submitting to Him. Moses is said to be the meekest man who ever lived (Numbers 12:3). But no one could portray him as being a non-activist. Only the Christian has a rightful claim to the earth and all its potential. God requires His people to lay hold of that claim ethically by submitting to God’s sovereign rule in all things and taking dominion over the whole redeemed world for Jesus and His glory.
With a fresh new look, more images, an extensive subject and scripture index, and an updated bibliography, God and Government is ready to prepare a whole new generation to take on the political and religious battles confronting Christians today. May it be used in a new awakening of Christians in America—not just to inform minds, but to stimulate action and secure a better tomorrow for our posterity.
Gary discusses the aftermath of the 2026 midterm elections and how misinterpretations of Bible prophecy played a big part. He critiques the political implications of these beliefs, particularly regarding Israel’s role in global politics, and calls for a new approach to governance based on biblical principles.
