Good Guy With a Gun Who Stopped School Shooter Was Advised Not to Do Anything
A recent school shooting received less enthusiastic media coverage than it otherwise might have, because a good guy with a gun put a stop to it, cutting short the body count. Authorities tried to stop him. Not the shooter; they tried to stop hero Kaylub Giamanco from stopping the shooter.
Breitbart reports:
The audio of the October 15, 2026, 911 call during the shooting at Bend, Oregon’s Silver Rail Elementary has been released, and the dispatcher can be heard telling 36-year-old Kaylub Giamanco not to “do anything.”
That policy was largely followed by police during the Parkland, Florida and Uvalde, Texas shootings. Lives were saved because Giamanco took a different approach.
OPB has the audio — complete with a trigger warning at the top.
On a tip from Barry A.
