The Trumpening: Rather Than Killing ObamaCare on His First Day as Promised, the Donald Kills Regulation Instead (How Populist of Him)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

by Scott Creighton

No. President Trump did not repeal ObamaCare with an executive order on his first day in office like he promised many times over during the campaign. He did, however, sign an order that dealt with the “Affordable Care Act” which some are saying “may or may not be a bad thing”

Under cover of his inauguration, with all the pomp and circumstance expected for a billionaire’s coronation consuming the headlines, The Donald put pen to paper and made life a little more profitable for the insurance companies who are already reaping the whirlwind of benefits from the unconstitutional (and in my opinion, fascist) ObamaCare plan.

“In his first executive order, President Trump on Friday directed government agencies to scale back as many aspects of the Affordable Care Act

The one-page order… gave no specifics about which aspects of the law it was targeting. But its broad language gave federal agencies wide latitude to change, delay or waive provisions of the law that they deemed overly costly for insurers, drug makers, doctors, patients or states, suggesting that it could have wide-ranging impact…

Using the phrase “to the maximum extent permitted by law,” the order directs federal agencies to move decisively to implement changes, including granting flexibility that insurers and states had long implored the Obama administration to provide….

Still, while Mr. Trump’s directive allows officials to take steps that increase costs for consumers, that result is not inevitable.

Over the last six years, insurance company executives have bitterly complained that federal insurance regulations were extremely prescriptive and onerous. By relaxing some of those rules, the Trump administration could make the individual insurance market more attractive to insurers.

House Republican leaders recently asked governors for recommendations on health policy, and governors from both parties said the federal government should scale back its regulation of health insurance.” New York Times

Let me just say this right off the bat: President Trump is NOT going to “give us” universal single payer health care like so many other industrialized nations already enjoy. That’s not going to happen.

What MIGHT happen (and by “might” I mean too say “this is what you will get”) is he and his Zionist son-in-law and all the Zionists and Israel-firsters in congress are planning on “giving” you something similar to Chile’s or Israel’s health care system, which is called a “universal” plan, but really, it isn’t.

(For the record, Chile and Israel have a mandated “tax” of between 7 and 10 percent of their citizen’s paychecks taken by their governments and handed over to insurance companies directly. Those insurance companies (4 in the case of Israel) then provide “insurance” to the citizens. That’s NOT universal healthcare.)

Trump said just earlier this week that his replacement plan would provide “insurance for everybody” but has provided no details on how.” Daily News

Trump is now talking about “insurance for everybody” not “healthcare for everybody”.

That’s a big difference and in my opinion, this was the ultimate goal all along.

They needed ObamaCare to move us in this direction and they needed it to be challenged in the Supreme Court, just like it was, so the unconstitutional mandate could be upheld under the guise of calling it a tax.

Right now there are too many people opting out of buying the useless insurance, instead deciding to pay the penalty at the end of the year because it’s cheaper and because they don’t want to buy one of the cheap plans that literally provide nothing to the “insured”

Not only that, but the ever rising cost of insurance scares people away from the plans and rightly so. At least you know the penalty for not being covered isn’t going to increase by the end of the year. No such promises with ObamaCare.

Under the “insurance tax” plan, that is not an option. Neither is simply not paying your insurance premium bill every month. The money for Big Insurance is automatically deducted from your paycheck every week. They automatically get a percentage of your pay. They get their piece of the action… like gangsters for instance.

How many times since ObamaCare was first being debated have I written that ultimately the goal of Big Business is to get their congress-critters to make you give them a percentage of your wages? 20? 100?

That’s why they needed the Supreme Court decision and that is why they need to open up insurance markets across state lines which is another thing this executive order does:

It also promotes the creation of a system to allow the sale of insurance across state lines, something Republicans have said will increase competition in the health care market.” Money

When they do that and they pick their 4 or 5 Big Insurance “winners” to be the pool of “insurance tax” coverage providers, they will then fulfill The Donald’s most recent version of his promise to see that “everyone has insurance” by adapting an Israeli modeled system right here in the good old U.S. of fascism.

And if you think I am crazy when I say this Israeli scheme is the next big thing for the fascist of America (Trump included) keep in mind, this website says it is (written Jan. 201th, 2017) and so did Mitt Romney back in 2012 (don’t forget, ObamaCare was once called RomneyCare)

Israel has the second most expensive health care system in the world, behind only the U.S. In 1998 they had to implement some government regulations because the 4 insurance companies were gouging the consumers who were mandated to pay into the system and shirking their responsibility to provide actual healthcare to their customers.

I guess The Donald’s little executive order yesterday will keep those pesky regulations from interfering with Big Insurance once we get our fascist system up and running.

(For those of you who think I might be misinterpreting the language of the executive order (my quote is from the Times after all) then I suggest you read it for yourself. You can find the text of the order here… or simply scroll down to the end of the article.)

Some will suggest and already have that the order will allow various agencies to ignore or push back against the unconstitutional individual mandate and that remains to be seen. But first and foremost what we can read directly from the order itself is how it allows individual states to ease restrictions on the various insurance companies and we all know how deeply rooted ALEC is across the country in the pockets of state lawmakers. Issuing such an order on his first day in office is like ringing the dinner bell for those guys.

In another of his executive orders, President Trump made purchasing a home just a little more difficult for working class Americans:

The order will have the immediate effect of increasing the amount that most non-wealthy homeowners must contribute to the Federal Housing Authority’s insurance program. Beginning Jan. 27, most borrowers will now have to pony up six-tenths of a percent of their mortgage each month, up a quarter of a percentage point from last year. Americans with $200,000 mortgages will pay roughly $500 more in 2017 than they did in 2016, according to the FHA.

Trump’s decision to undo the Obama-era rate reduction, thus resulting in an uptick on borrowers’ bills, will have very little affect on wealthier mortgage holders, since the program only applies to those with low incomes, middling credit scores or who have less than a 20% down payment on their homes. (Wealthier borrowers generally do not fit the program’s criteria.)” TIME

The reduction in the fee isn’t something that would have been a life changing economic boon for the homeowners and it was only implemented by the Obama administration last month via an executive order so it’s not like these homeowners have become dependent on the additional $500 or so bucks they will be forced to CONTINUE paying.

But it does somewhat expose the fraudulence of Trump’s mask of populism as it screws over the middle and working classes in America while not effecting the wealthy homeowners at all.

Also keep in mind… this fee is only applicable to FHA loans, the very institution that serves as an option to Big Banking mortgages. Thus, this increase will make Big Banking’s mortgages more  attractive to potential home-buyers.

“FHA loans enable homebuyers—often those with lower incomes and who have fewer assets or bad credit—to bypass conventional lenders who would likely deny them loans by taking out a mortgage that’s insured by the federal government. The borrowers have to pay FHA mortgage insurance, to protect the mortgage lender from a loss should the borrower default on their home loan. In his announcement of the change, Obama said the drop in premiums would help stabilize the housing market and spur growth in housing markets still recovering from the financial crisis.” Mother Jones

For those of you who forgot, Goldman Sachs in big in the mortgage business. They were also a big contributor to the sub-prime mortgage weapons of mass financial destruction crash of 2008. Just recently they had to pony up 5 billion bucks for their part in that little derivatives scam.

Currently there are four former Goldman Sachs executives roaming around the Trump White House in his administration: Steve Bannon, Steve Mnuchin, Gary Cohn and John Clayton.

Wait.. I’m sorry… Dina Powell makes FIVE.

Curious isn’t it? All that deregulation that took place in the old Clinton days killed off our economy in 2008 and allowed banks like Goldman Sachs to make all those billions of dollars in profits and here we are, the first two executive orders from The Donald do nothing more than aid Big Insurance and Big Banking by promoting deregulation once again.

Hillary received $675,000 for three speeches at Goldman Sachs. The Clinton Foundation rented space from Goldman Sachs to house it’s primary offices. And of course, Robert E. Rubin, Goldman Sachs senior partner in the ’90s left that job to become Bill Clinton’s economic policy team and later became his Treasury Secretary right around the time they stopped Brookesly Born from regulating the derivatives Goldman Sachs used to crush our economy… and right around the time they dismantled one little regulation called Glass-Steagall which set the stage for the depression of 2008.

Let me think about that for a second.

And some readers here want me to cut The Donald some slack so we can “wait and see” what if he’s actually going to be the populist his pro-wrestling type character pretended to be on the campaign trail. He was the “face” by the way. Killary was the “heel” in case you didn’t already recognize the archetypes.

Okay. I waited. I waited for a full 4 hours after he took the oath of office. And here we are.

ಠ_ಠ

If you want to wait until your paystub includes something called an “insurance tax” and your policy is written in Hebrew, be my guest.

If you think by further deregulating Big Insurance and Big Banking we will somehow end up in a populist Nirvana, in spite of the plethora of historical evidence to the contrary, I can’t help you much there.

But no, I think I’m done giving The Donald the benefit of the doubt as if his reactionary, fascist billionaire cabinet picks weren’t enough to formulate an educated opinion on the authenticity of Trump’s populism.

If you want to stick your head in the sand, there’s a whole bunch of craters out there the Obamaites just popped up out of. Be my guest. They already dug them and kept them warn for you for the last 8 years. Should be comfy.

But I wont be joining you.

The American political system is like a real estate company.

They’re going to sell you this house, and you’re going to buy it. But you do get to choose the agent. You can have a black one, a white one, a lady, a man, a peanut farmer, a billionaiere, whichever one you like, some with southern accents, some not. But the house is always the same house and that’s the one you’re going to buy. That’s it.

But oh! What a passionate fight we have about the agent!

I can’t believe the shortsightedness of so called conservatives in this nation. Trump vows to undo Obama Care but instead he writes and executive order that gives federal agencies liberty to use rules that are ALREADY ON THE BOOKS. His EO DOES NOTHING! It just reiterates existing Obama Care law. This guy is an imposter – he will not do any of the things he promised – but some of you so called conservatives are still cheering him on.

Government health care is ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL – period. Tweaking an illegal unconstitutional system is ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Why are you falling for this progressive ruse? Now even conservatives are for socialized health care – as long as it’s done THEIR way. IDIOTS!

I am sorry, your reasoning is too lacking to be able to comment much, in hopes of having a discussion.

Though you should mention the “integrity” of the Reagone administration.

President can’t cancel bills passed by Congress with Executive Orders. What he did is order staff to curtail penalties Obama had ordered. So, if people were going to be fined $600 for not being able to afford Obamacare, they don’t get fined.
