Secret Wars of the CIA John Stockwell (a talk from 12/27/1989)

I found this today while researching FISA Section 702 and thought I would share it with you. Have a listen and see how little has changed since back then. Sounds like Syria. Sounds like Ukraine. Sounds like Libya and Sudan and Iraq. Sounds like Honduras and Columbia and Venezuela and Turkey.

“Meanwhile this cat and mouse game we have played with Nicaragua since 1981 is a classic case of what CIA directors themselves call destabilization. Put pressure on the targeted government by ripping apart the social and economic fabric of the country… that means making the people suffer as much as you can until the country plunges into chaos until at some point you can step in and impose your choice of governments on that country. The rationales we have used in Nicaragua are classic: “We’ve been fighting communism”, “National Security”, “They are a Marxist bastion in our own backyard”…”

“Terror has been a part of this program (Nicaragua destabilization program). Raw terror. As raw as anything that happens in the Middle East. These Contras (trained by CIA and Special Forces) have been going into villages, they’ve been hauling families out with other members of the families forced to watch, they’ve been castrating fathers, gang-raping mothers slashing off their breasts, again, while the children are forced to watch. 22,000 is the number the New York Times gave the last time as the number of people killed in this thing.”

The only real difference I suppose is just how much of the media and government Big Business has captured since then and therefore, how little push-back the CIA and State Department get on their secret little dirty wars across the globe.

You should watch this video this morning, Christmas Eve morning, keeping in mind it was 28 years ago almost to the day John Stockwell was informing the world on just how dangerous the CIA was and all they have done since then is gain more power.

Later I will be doing a video on FISA Section 702 re-authorization and how it was the basis for the spying on the Trump campaign last year. It’s no wonder they want to keep it.
