NBC's Sports Bob Costas' "Mistake"

NBC Management,

Mr. Costas’ commentary and subsequent quasi acknowledgement to his “Mistake” was incredibly insulting to myself, my family, and others who enjoy the game of Football. Who the hell does Mr. Costas think he is to take a very controversial position of our God given right to our 2nd Amendment and suggest that your viewers are “just not smart enough” to understand his (Management’s) position on gun control.

Well, excuse me, I understand perfectly the agenda of NBC’s Corporation stance on Gun Control. Unfortunately, for NBC it has absolutely taken the wrong position of a constitutional right.

For Bob Costas to suggest that the tragic deaths of Kansas City Chiefs Linebacker Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend might of been avoided if stricter gun controls were in place is like saying forks and spoons are responsible for fat people being fat and stricter measures are needed for the utensils industry… Come on, just how moronic is that line of reasoning.

Every attempt to enforce gun control has backfired, and in fact, increased violence has been the case in almost every instance, period.

Although I enjoy most sports, and support their sponsors as much as possible, we will not watch ANY programming from NBC, its affiliates, or support their sponsors financially, in any way. I will make it a point to share my view of NBC’s negative polices concerning our constitutional rights with every one of my family and friends.

I can, although I disagree with them, respect your political views when expressed in the context of views and opinions. But to bleed those opinions into the sporting division of your network is unacceptable. To compound that with calling your audience’s intelligence into question, is unconscionable. Believe me, if management does not fire Mr. Costas for his unprofessional-ism and insulting demeanor, you will not enjoy our support now, or in the future.
