How Electronic Media differs from Print Media?

Media, as we know, is the collective means of communicating with the mass. When we think about media, all the newspapers, magazines,radio,television,internet, reporters and correspondents come into our mind. It is vast and has several aspects.Two significant media are electronic and print media. However, both of these
media differ from each other. Let’s see how.

Print Media vs Online Media

• Limited circulation: Print media or format is usually used by newspapers. it is based within a specific area. The circulation of print media is limited and cannot go very far. Magazines can still reach many more places than the newspaper. On the other hand, the online media can reached by people all over the world. 

• Fast access: Examples of print media are newspaper and magazines which can be accessed only at a particular time of the day. But the e-media is fast and can be accessed by many people at any time worldwide.

• Interactive tools: Images and cliparts can be used by both the media. But , in this case, online media publishing has an advantage because this media can use images with motion and can also upload related videos which makes it more attractive. 

• Information as required: People can get their immediately required information on the web whereas, it is not possible with the newspapers and other forms of print media.

• Fast Results: Electronic media can give comparatively faster results than the traditional media, because it has to go through various research to publish the news.

• Thorough Checking: The contents of newspapers and magazines can be checked thoroughly by the editors if there is any error which gives an advantage to this media.

• Higher costs of Print Media: Survey says that costs of publishing news in the New York Times is twice the cost of providing the subscribers a new kindle. According to the Times, they spend $211 million dollar on the raw materials and wages per year. On the contrary, the online media can work on lower costs.

• Addition of several pages: The web can add infinite number of pages to it , but it is not possible with the offline mode.

• Quick updating: The news and other contents on online media can be updated quickly as there is any change but, with the newspapers, it needs a whole day to modify their news.

We can see, there lies various differences between these media and the online mode though has more advantages, people still find the offline and the traditional mode  more reliable.
