Fifteen Golden Balls, paid for by One and All

 Every so often I like to write bits about Cornwall, granted it is only what I type about really but time again I come across good articles on the web which describe Cornwall and its people well. I write to give people an idea of what differentiates Cornwall and England, unless people are aware of these differences then these differences will be lost and we’ll become just another county. We have an history, an history which has not been properly studied to label us a part of England yet, nor is our known history openly known. Like how our ways and customs have survived as long as they have, obvious when you know the place and its history. We may be just another county in the end, but the fact that we’re a Duchy too seems to be getting airbrushed out of the picture, Did anyone know that: 

“ The national emblem (of Cornwall)* consists of a shield containing fifteen golden balls and bearing the motto “One and All”. This represents fifteen golden balls raised by the Cornish as ransom for a Duke of Cornwall captured by the Saracens during the crusades.”

Thats our history, history which people have a right to know but so readily don’t.

And who changed our emblem? And why do the pages that describe Cornwall in detail appear to be foreign?
