WE THE PEOPLE PROPOSE THE 28TH AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

We were Soldiers Once!

Forget Term Limits, and anything the Congress themselves would contrive, to save themselves; We The People must convene, hopefully peacefully, and take our country back from these usurpers who have made us second class to their will!  

Congress is out of control. They no longer represent Americans, American Taxpayers, The Rule of Law or the Constitution. The care NOT about the oaths of office they took, and the minute they are in place, work only to get reelected forever. They are totally disconnected from the people who pay their salaries, benefits, and self-proclaimed perks and privileges, THEY GRANT THEMSELVES.

It’s time a 28^th Amendment be added to the Constitution of the Republic of the United States of America. This is not a new idea, I didn’t write this document below, but it is clear the inmates (Congress) have taken over our government. They must be corralled, tamed, and put back in their intended place.

It’s an idea whose time has come to deal with a totally self-serving Congress, and the expensive Taxpayer funded operation, they have put together to serve them and only them!

OUR PRESENT SITUATION!

1. Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans.
2. Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans.
3. Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term.
4. Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live. For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment.
5. They have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects. We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

1. Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives.
2. Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States.

This should never be allowed to happen ever again! 

Congressional Reform Act of 2019:

1. Senators and Representatives shall have No Tenure / No Pension.
2. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.
3. There will be NO PERKS or SPECIAL PRIVILEGES go with a Senator or Representative when they leave office.
4. Congress (past, present, & future) SHALL participates in Social Security.
5. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund SHALL move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system
6. Congress SHALL participates with the American people. It SHALL not be used for any other purpose.
7. Congress SHALL purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do.
8. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
9. No more extravagant travel itineraries, taking along fellow Congressmen (women), friends and family members.
10. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
11. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!).
12. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor and privilege NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work, not live off the tit of Taxpayers, the rest of their lives.

WE THE PEOPLE WANT TO RETURN OUR CONGRESS TO ITS ORIGINAL INTENT, AND WE WANT TO DO IT NOW, WITHOUT DISCUSSION BY THE SELF-SERVING CONGRESS IN PLACE.
