#1 Always Have An Up-To-Date Resume

Without a well-organized, well-written resume, you will not be able to grab an opportunity when it comes your way. My career advice when it comes to women is to design a well-crafted resume that will ensure you remain competitive in the market of today.

If you are not sure or intimidated by this prospect, use a professional and expert resume builder to help you. These are the tools that will give you step-by-step guidance through each stage of the process to create a modern and updated resume. To balance the application materials, use a professional builder for cover letters to assist you in writing your cover letter that emphasizes your most important and impressive credentials.

#2 Develop A Powerful Personal Brand And Make Sure You Are Visible

Among the best advice associated with career advice dedicated to women involves developing a strong and noticeable personal brand. A strong reputation and personal brand can make you more noticeable when it comes to exciting and meaningful career opportunities.

When you are recognized in a specific field, this will also increase your chances of finding a job if your company lets you go. So make sure you are always visible and be clear about what your accomplishments and unique skills are. You should tell the story of your career in an interesting and concise way. SNC/SNC ME/APAC can help you to build your personal brand.

#3 Build Your Network

Network outside and in your organization. This will provide you with more options should your situation change. In this way, people will remember you when discussing interesting projects. Get acquainted with the right professionals and let them know about your skills. Building a powerful network is well worth the effort and time which is great career advice when it comes to both men and women.

#4 Request Feedback

Asking for feedback is also great career advice when it comes to women. You can only improve on things when you are told what needs improving. Feedback can also assist you to match up to expectations and avoiding miscommunications that may interfere with your prospects when it comes to growth. Employees that proactively ask management for feedback followed by implementing it wisely usually turn into the “top performers” in their different fields.

#5 Be Prepared To Take On New Challenges

If you are asked to participate in something that really interests you, but you are not sure if you are completely ready, say “yes”, you will work out the “how” along the way. I remember being asked to give a speech at a conference in Athens, Greece for HR professionals. Before that, I had not given talks on that topic, or before so many people (200).

The preparation work was stressful, yet the experience was incredible and really boosted my self-esteem and confidence. Have the guts to try out new things, or make lateral moves to gain another perspective.

#6 Project Confidence

The more competent and confident you appear or seem, the more you will have the ability to secure confidence in your capabilities in others. You must learn how to express and define yourself clearly, and ask for anything you need or want.

Learn to speak slowly and clearly, some people (including myself) naturally talk fast. Others start speaking faster when they are feeling nervous or anxious. But when you talk too fast, it may indicate a “lack of confidence” or “lack of authority”, so try and slow things down.

#7 Be Persistent

Don’t ever give up, when you are passionate about that promotion or job. In some cases, things don’t always go the way we planned, but once you have a goal in place, make sure you become single-minded when it comes to achieving your goal. Write your goals down, regularly review them, and gain the support that you need to obtain them. I soon realized that I had started to procrastinate on the creation of my courses online because I was feeling too overwhelmed. Since hiring a coach, my progress picked up speed relatively quickly, and now the course is close to complete.

Don’t forget to talk to your manager about your goals and what you are hoping to achieve. Also, ask them for support or feedback when necessary.
