Bohdan Prylepa – Blockchain visionary building a secure future for Ukraine

With war currently raging in Ukraine, Bohdan Prylepa is not only helping the citizens of his homeland financially during these frightening and uncertain times, he’s focusing his attention on improving the country’s long-term economic prospects through what he’s best known for – blockchain technology.

While studying at a university in the town of Irpin, 15 miles north of Kyiv, Bohdan first became fascinated with cryptocurrency, particularly the blockchain technology behind it. The town of Irpin holds a special place in Bohdan’s heart, and recently while watching Russian tanks and missiles destroying the town that he has fond memories of, this made him all the more determined to prove blockchain can make both Ukraine and the world a safer and better place.

Realizing the potential of blockchain technology early on while studying at university in Irpin, Bohdan co-founded the IT company Pro-fit in 2016, shortly after graduating. The Pro-fit brand builds software based on blockchain technology for websites and mobile applications. The company’s revolutionary software resulted in new forms of business solutions that weren’t even envisaged before its creation. Bohdan believes the potential of blockchain is limitless and will lead us to solutions to problems that humanity hasn’t even contemplated yet.  

Today, as a serial entrepreneur and either leading or working with numerous well-known companies such as Bitcoin Ultimatum, Qmall and WeWay, to name but a few, Bohdan is using his knowledge and expertise in the blockchain space to change the way governments and businesses operate in today’s tech-driven environment. As VP of a company named eHold group, Bohdan already advises numerous regulatory bodies around the globe on how blockchain can be utilized to improve areas such as government procurement, taxation, property rights and more.

Before the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Bohdan had already contributed dramatically toward Ukraine becoming a world leader in applying blockchain technologies in a variety of areas. An excellent example of Bohdan’s work would be his invaluable help establishing Qmall, Ukraine’s first government-regulated cryptocurrency exchange. Always one step ahead, Bohdan also ensured that Qmall would be the world’s first crypto exchange located within its own metaverse by the end of 2022.

If, as some say, war is a continuation of economics by other means, then improving the economic situation of a country is critical to building a secure and confident one. Whether it’s reducing fraud and corruption through verifiable and transparent processes, ensuring intellectual property rights, or speeding up and reducing costs of financial transactions, blockchain offers solutions to these and the many more problems economies face.     

Nations are founded on five key pillars: national security, food security, energy security, environmental security, and most importantly, economic security. Without economic security, none of the others are possible. At present, Bohdan is working closely with Ukrainian banks and government bodies to provide technical solutions that will shield Ukraine and its economy from the forces that wish to do it harm. It’s blockchain and innovative thinkers like Bohdan who can help deliver that much-needed security for both his homeland and elsewhere.
