Runner Collides With Bear in Glacier

Glacier National Park posted this blurb on their Twitter account yesterday:

Female trail runner collided with a bear on Huckleberry Lookout Trail Sat. am. Minor injuries. Walked back down trail and met rangers at trailhead. Self-transported to KRMC. Trail posted for bear frequenting.

A little later they followed-up with this post:

Bear and woman are ok. Injuries to the woman were caused when they collided and tumbled off the trail. The bear ran off when they untangled.

A couple of hours later Brad DoleshMT @BradDolesh replied with this comment (don’t know if this is true, but he sounds authoritative):

For the record there were three runners all making a lot of noise and with bear spray in hand. The bear came running down the hill and blindsided the lead runner. All runners have hiked/run in the park for over 30 years.
