Another step in the quest for clean water The STREAM Act is expected to pass the U.S. House as soon as today with bipartisan support! This legislation will help states and tribes clean up acid mine drainage from abandoned mines by allowing agencies to use some of their money from the infrastructure bill for long-term treatment of the toxic pollution. Now we need to get the Senate ready to pass the STREAM Act. |

New climate deal announced The Senate deal would reduce emissions and help coal-impacted communities and rural areas transition to a prosperous, healthy clean-energy future. And it’s a win for black lung benefits. But it also includes a promise of an unspecified permit reform bill by the end of September. |
