As the IT Manager of my place of business, I have a great variety of jobs I take care of and monitor. One of them is the setup and occasional monitoring of security cameras in various places around the business I work, which is located in Omaha Nebraska.
I am using motion, a open source software program that suits this particular businesses needs very well. The software provides a live feed over the network to the CEO and operations manager so they can monitor the security of the business whenever they need to, as well as myself.
I have used motion for years in relation to security monitoring of various places in this city. It runs over standard web cams which are very inexpensive, with a high level of quality in video picture these days. In these years of monitoring, ive never seen anything of a paranormal sort until recently.
Motion works by a live feed 24/7, but it will also being recording events to the hard drive upon detecting movement in front of the camera. It then time stamps these events into a folder for later review.
