The Old Testament, the Law, was created to show us our inability to keep God’s commandments; it is the power of sin that leads us to repentance. While on Earth, Jesus taught the “gospel of the Kingdom” to show mankind a standard we absolutely cannot attain in this flesh; externally or internally. All of this for the purpose of putting our faith solely in the saving work of Jesus Christ. It has always been by God’s grace alone, that man is saved by their faith alone in Christ alone, not by our works, good deeds or “keeping the commandments.”
