So far this year there have been a lot of people that have made a negative impact on the paranormal hobby. This year we’ve pretty much seen it all, from thieving paranormal investigators, to a ghost hunting murderer, to spirit seeking meth makers, and even a ghost busting rapist.

6. Son steals father’s corpse and stores it in a freezer 
A 48-year-old man was arrested by Detroit police for stealing his father’s corpse from a local cemetery in January. The man was hoping his father would be brought back to life. Read more

5. Paranormal investigator steals money from Pennsylvania preservation society
A Pennsylvania paranormal investigator allegedly stole nearly $2500 from a preservation society that he volunteered for. The organization plans to press criminal charges against the man. Read more

4. Tennessee woman shoots at ghost hunters 
A BB gun-wielding woman allegedly fired shots at a car of people that stopped near her home to explore a haunted tunnel. She was charged with five counts of aggravated assault for the incident in June but the case was dismissed in August and all charges were dropped. Read more

3. Officers find spirit seekers that are actually lost meth makers
Three ghost hunters got busted this summer in North Carolina after authorities found out that they were really drug-dealing entrepreneurs and were planning on setting up a hidden meth lab in the woods. When questioned by deputies why they were wandering in the wilderness in the middle of the night, one of the men claimed that they were searching for ghosts and ended up lost. Read more

A man was arrested in China last month after he claimed that he could get rid of ghosts from a young woman’s vagina with his penis. The paranormal enthusiast allegedly charged over $3000 to perform the sexorcism. Read more
