A Plausable Scientific Explanation of Auras

A Plausible Scientific Explanation of Auras

Throughout history many people who otherwise are considered sane have claimed to see Auras. Since these reports are both persistent and consistent it would be remiss to simply dismiss this as hallucination, as I‘m sure many cases are. I’d rather take a serious analytical look (in true open minded scientific fashion) for a possible root cause of such visual phenomena.
Let us examine what we know. Most of this is elementary school stuff. Our studies of the Eye and Sight have revealed quite a bit about the brain and how it forms the “image” that we think we see. It would seem at casual glance that the eye is an extremely sophisticated  biological “digital camera” Let us forget that for the moment and dig into what happens to the signals coming from these nano-biological masterpieces.
Incoming light strikes the rods and cones in the retina and causes them to fire. They cannot partially fire, they either fire or do not fire, although the rate at which they fire can vary.  The visual information from each eye is divided at the eye into a right and left visual field. Each eye relaying visual information to both sides of the brain with the left visual field being sent to the right side of the brain and the right visual field being sent to the left side of the brain. Understand that at this point the information is bioelectric in nature, the photons are stopped when they strike the retina.
Each neuron fires in sequence as the electric energy (action potential) streams down the cell to the terminal button where vesicles filled with neurotransmitters fuse to the presynaptic membrane and release their contents into the synapses. Once there, the neurotransmitters cross the gap and fuse with specialized receptors on the Axon of the next nerve cell in line triggering the action potential of this new cell and causing it to fire.
The regions in the brain where this information is processed are known as the Right and Left Primary Visual Cortex and they receive this information in a rather round about way. These bioelectric signals travel down each Optic Nerve to the Optic Chiasm where they are then sent to the Thalamus before finally being sent to the respective Right and Left Primary Visual Cortex located at the back of each hemisphere of the brain.
The Optic Chiasm is where the Optic nerves intersect. Remember both carrying a right and left visual field signal. This is located in the center forebrain just in front of the Hypothalamus a region of the Thalamus.  It doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to think that the Optic Chiasm functions as a switchboard insuring all the data goes to the correct places.
The Thalamus is a primary sensory organ. It not only receives but actually processes information from all your primary senses as each of the primary sensory relay areas receive information back from the Cerebral Cortex. This is called “Back Projections”  Touch, Taste, Smell, Hearing, Sight, All are relayed to this one organ.
The Thalamus is actually attached to the Pineal Gland which is currently thought to play a role in circadian rhythms because it contains light sensing rods and cones even though light in the form of photons (which is what rods and cones detect) never reach this portion of the brain.  Obviously exposing this portion of your brain to direct sunlight would be fatal for many reasons, not the least of which would be the gaping hole in your head and the removal of intervening structures and the associated blood loss. I digress.
Logically speaking, I’ve never really considered circadian rhythms to be a sense in the active full time way I experience my other senses. Let’s take a closer look at this curious little sensory organ (the pineal) and see if we can determine a little more.
The Pineal has been referred to as the third eye long before its actual structure was known to contain rods and cones. It has also been referred to as the seat of the soul, the God gland and many such things down through the ages. A powerful argument can be made that the Egyptian “Eye of Ra” resembles the Thalamus and Pineal, I’ll leave that to speculation.
The Pineal is actually filled with a watery substance very similar to the aqueous humor inside the Eye. It is a little different however as new research indicates it contains calcite microcrystalline structures that strongly resemble the Octonia found in the inner ear. The Octonia in the inner ear have been shown to have piezoelectric properties.
If the microcrystalline calcite octonia found in the pineal can be verifiably demonstrated to have piezoelectric properties as I believe they will, this is my hypothesis.
The Pineal is actually our primary bioelectric visual sensory organ. As the microcrystalline calcite octonia react to very specific frequencies of electromagnetic fields (this would be in the range of bioelectricity) this stimulates the rods and cones of the Pineal to fire. The information thus generated is incorporated into (not processed separately from) the visual information relayed to and processed by the Thalamus before it is sent to the Right and Left Primary Visual Cortex respectively. The Pineal really is our third eye, but it sees bioelectricity not light.
Nature is rife with examples (like sharks and rays) of animals with the ability to sense bioelectricity. Homing Pidgeons famously have the ability to “see” the Earths magnetic field.
It is therefore not outlandish nor is it unreasonable to entertain the very realistic possibility that in fact our brain appears to be hardwired with a specialized organ that gives us the ability “see” bioelectricity.
If I were an alien xenobiologist and knew nothing of our culture or literature and had only a brain biopsy to look at, I may conclude that this specimen could “see” bioelectric fields.
An alien xenobiologist would most likely have a greater grasp on the specific functions of the various parts of the brain than myself  and may know fully well what the pineal does. I digress again. Real scientific research is warranted in my humble opinion.

Why did so many famous “Aura Readers” fail the screen test?

This “test” involves several screens behind which the subject was asked to specifically identify whether each screen actually had someone behind it or in some cases the participants were tricked by telling them they were attempting to identify a specific person by the color of the aura and then the screen would have no one behind it.
It is my opinion that this “test” represents a bioelectric optical illusion and the aura readers were discredited because they fell for an illusion. Since the bioelectric visual signal is incorporated into the actual photo visual then incongruancies in the signals are “smoothed out” by the Thalamus prior to sending the signal to the primary visual cortex for reciprocal feedback. In other words, since there was nothing to distinguish the bioelectric signal from the background, the brain simply ignored it.  Seeing auras is not X-ray vision.

Auras and Telluric Currents

How were all the ancients able to place so many monuments on the intersections of “Ley Lines” that later with modern equipment turn out to be measurable Telluric Currents?  If you have read this far then the answer is as obvious as the nose on your face isn’t it? They could “see” the Ley lines. No ancient alien technology required.

Our Electromagnetic Environment

We are literally immersed in a virtual storm of artificial electromagnetic signals, it is no wonder we are blinded in our third eye. It is like staring into a spotlight twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. How long do you think your eyes would last like that? I’m speculating that the profitability of our electromagnetic environment may perhaps play a role in suppression of research on this subject.
