Ghosts as Such Does not Exist

The sight of ghost is created by the human own mind-stuff, due to fear based thoughts leading into defective functioning of the nerve cells. This state is creation of auto-suggestion by one’s own mind, or outer-suggestion by other, stronger, mind. The soul of the person whose ectoplasm created the ghost is also the witnessing entity of the ghost. Thus ghost have the appearance consistent with the person’s preconceived notion of what it should look like.

Already if one thinks of ghosts, the fear-instinct starts to dominate. Thus people conceive ghosts. There is no ghosts with their own ectoplasm to express themselves. In order to avoid ghosts one should rise above all kinds of fears and make the mind strong. Best medicine to remove ghosts is to do devotional singing of mantra, and these “ghosts” will literally vanish into thin air.

I went to “ghostly” Romania and stayed first week in an empty staff residence of a school in Bukarest. I knew children and teachers had seen ghosts occasionally inside the school building and also outside. I was not worried in the beginning, as I knew ghosts don’t actually exist. Anyhow I soon noticed that every time I heard some noise, I became a bit nervous and had to start to repeat my mantra, although I knew nothing was there. Possession by “ghosts” usually occurs in a state of shock or fear. Some have weak minds; some feel injustice and insult but are unable to express. While fearing some ghostly being, the body nerves and feelings becomes suspended and one fails to think and becomes possessed. In such cases the exorcist tries various methods to reactivate these inactive layers, such as making their patient to smell things and hitting them to revitalize the nervous structure, which make the effect of the “ghost” to disappear. Hysteria has similar origin and has a similar cure.

Devayonies are neither created by auto-suggestion or outer-suggestion, nor are they hallucinations. Due to some attachments after death one may be reborn temporarily as a “luminous body”, devayoni, composed only of the three factors – luminous, aerial, and ethereal – without any solid or liquid. They may be visible in dark only. For example those who have vanity of money can become yaksa devayoni. Devayonis exist between the physical and psychic worlds. They exert rather positive influence upon the human mind.

As an example of a negative luminous body pretayoni; person who commit suicide due to psychic distortion, anger, greed, jealousy, etc, may in his pretayoni state, incite other humans also to commit suicide. After some time, both negative and positive luminous bodies are again reborn in a physical body.

“Recreated mind”. After death, when the mind dissociates from the body, and carries samskaras (karma), the mind remains in potential form. Now, if the ectoplasm of another living person is associated with that potential mind, then that disembodied mind gets a mental body for a short time. That mental body can function with the help of the nerves of that living person, but only for a short span of time. People playing with occult powers, woodoo etc may manage to create these experiences.

Avidyá Tantrics have been common nuisance in India, but these cases are becoming rare. After death, before the mind gets incarnated into a new body, the detached mind moves in the universe, invisible and inaudible. But by dint of Tantric practice, Avidyá Tantric can, with the help of his own ectoplasmic stuff, create a temporary ectoplasmic body for that detached mind, and when it is a bit solidified it becomes visible and audible. The created person behaves like a servant and is used to do all kind of things. The purpose of spiritual practice by Avidya Tamtrics is to exercise control over others.

Ac Dharmavedananda describes a Psychic Attack; The residents of a commune were troubled by an “outside force”. The local priest had already done an ineffective exorcism and a Buddhist monk consoled them to “ignore the illusion”.

I asked one of the young residents to describe the problem. ‘Every night for the last two months a Psychic Power attacks us between 2 – 3 in the morning. I can’t take it another night. Then I explained Baba Nam Kevalam mantra. We sang it for couple of minutes and did short meditation. I told them: ‘In the night we will do it together as long as necessary’. Soon we went to sleep. In the morning the rising sun woke me up. I went downstairs and found everyone there. ‘What happened? Why didn’t you wake me up? Or didn’t the Psychic Power hit last night?’

One of them said; ‘Oh, it hit, but you were sleeping so nicely that we decided to try first singing the mantra without you. And it worked. The very moment we started singing the Power disappeared. We were so happy that we continued singing the mantra long time and then did meditation’.

They were all smiling until suddenly there was a loud knocking on the door. We went to see who it could be at such an early hour. A lady was standing on the doorstep. Channelling means that some person allows another person/ET/being to enter their body. Under special conditions when the mind is concentrated, one pointed and the expression of propensities is suspended, one may transfer certain portions of the ectoplasmic body to receive another mind and let it communicate for some time.

Simple hallucination is just a play of mind or mental disease. The ocular vision is influenced by thought-waves, which want to see something different. My own experience; Once I was walking with my friend. She said suddenly; ‘Look there is a couple walking near the forest’. I looked and saw the couple. At the same time my friend started laughing and said; ‘I was just joking.’ I looked at her with surprise and then looked back the couple, but they were no more there. In the other hand, if they wanted to live longer in order to get spiritual enlightenment, they could take over someone else body, which was in the process of dying. When hypnotized by someone, a person starts perceiving things as per the commands of the hypnotist and person feels that his/her imagined objects are real. Such visions are outer hallucinations. In that state the thought vibration possesses more knowledge and energy than the consciousness of mind, and hence the hypnotized person acquires new convictions and can perform superhuman tasks.
