Why Do People Believe in UFOs?
Some people say that UFO sightings are a hoax, that the US government and space agencies are just making stuff up to scare us. Others say there is no way these space ships can fly and they are made up to be real. Regardless of what you believe, I’m not going to debate the truth of any of this.
The only thing I will say is that, in all my years of investigating UFO sightings, there has been only one verified sighting of an alien craft ever being shot down. Not, that I believe we should shoot anything down; it’s just that, one time, there was.
One day in the early 1980s, a small aircraft was flying near Anchorage Alaska, about 15 miles off the coast. Its lights were dancing around. Someone on the ground sent a transmission to the Federal Aviation Administration, which when received, brought this craft down.
There were many obvious reasons for this incident, including radar interference and a poor fuel gauge. If this thing hadn’t crashed, it might have flown over Whitehorse and crashed into a city or some other populated area. In fact, in some states, police have been known to shoot down UFOs that they thought were coming to land at night, if they are in the general airspace of the country.
But this was a group of guys that had never flown before, never flown in bad weather conditions, had never even flown over the Arctic Circle, and they didn’t even know how to start a C-47. How do you think they would have handled this one? They might have kept it aloft as long as possible to keep looking for the ships that they’d never seen.
Another famous example, in the book “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, was an encounter with an alien ship where, as a child, he saw the craft hovering in the sky. He said that his father told him not to tell anyone because the aliens were a secret. And yet when he got older, he found out that the object was the one that helped the aliens with their message.
Theories about UFOs are plentiful. One is that the military is hiding something. They have shown there are great plans for this to happen, and that is why they want to keep everything a secret, but they really can’t prove it.
It could also be possible that these odd and very strange aerial objects are actually spacecraft from another galaxy. They could be from the future. They could be probes from other worlds, and perhaps we will learn of their existence, and we will, hopefully, find them, just as we will find that others have also discovered them.
