MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS
It goes without saying that there exists a fragmented America today. To say there are divisions is an understatement, and they go much deeper than politics. The current political climate is full of disorder and mistrust. It is rife with group demands and group grievances, but a “culture” is made up of individuals, not groups. A culture is the sum of shared values held by most citizens in any country. America’s primary shared value for over 200 years has been sovereignty of the individual.
Autonomy, freedom, sovereignty, liberty for all.
‘It is one of those rare things that makes a country great—but it is also one of those things that most people are now wanting to destroy.
It can be argued that collectivism and tribal attitudes are what are destroying this country from within.
Victimhood and outrage have become cottage industries and they put a spotlight on our differences. Everyone feels that they must have a resistance or a defiance against petty evils that divide us politically and religiously.
The United States was at a unique point in history because it was consciously founded on the value of the individual, and the United States Constitution was framed to protect the individual. This concept of individualism made the United States of America exceptional in the history of humankind. But the United States are not united now. Why?
The biggest divide in America today is between groups: Groups identified by skin color and other physical features: white, Asian, Black, and Aboriginal individuals; groups identified by gender or gender-preference: LBGTQ individuals; groups identified by ethnicity: Hispanic, Asian, and European-descendant individuals; groups identified by religion: Christian, Jewish, and Muslim individuals.
Every one of those groups are encouraged to join an adversarial group – they demand that you recognize their struggles—and ignore your own. We are all struggling some more than others – but when the struggles turn to anger and rage we begin to see the fallout from those who wish to organize and find a scapegoat for all of their problems.
Republicans blame Democrats and vice versa – some conservative groups blame homosexuals and the granddad of theme all is the clash between white people –and people of color.
Now keep in mind that every group does and must consist of individuals. It is the sovereignty of the individual that is the bedrock upon which all of us and each of us — no matter race, sex, ancestry, or religion are protected by our codified Constitution against violence and/or tyranny from abroad or from within.
Here we are in 2021 – and notice that we as a nation, are hanging by a thread.
H.G. Wells was the author of a book called, The Open Conspiracy. This book was an expose on what the elite were planning for the future and how a “Fabian” socialism would gradually take over the world. Creating a New World Order that would replace world religion and world government.
He stated that it all would be replaced by collectivism. He stated that collectivism would kill religion and old forms of government by replacing it as the ideology of the New Age, ushering in a new government.
Collectivism is a term used to describe any moral, political, or social outlook, which stresses human interdependence and the importance of a collective, rather than the importance of separate individualism: in other words, defining one’s self or one’s work by a group or collective, rather than by one’s own individuality.
Today is Martin Luther King Day — it is a holiday set aside to honor a great man who made an attempt to unite us all by setting an example for passive protest and leadership that is lacking today– in both Black and White political circles. In the era of Black Lives Matter and the Woke culture it may surprise you that Dr. King warned us of leaders like Joe Biden and how black lives only matter when it is convenient politically.
Dr. King was quoted as saying:
“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.”
You won’t be hearing that quote in the mainstream media and it seems the only quotes you will get is some plagiarized story that Kamala Harris likes to tell that she allegedly ripped off from an Interview Dr. King did for playboy.
Vice President-elect Kamala Harris sat down with Elle Magazine for a profile story prior to winning the 2020 election to discuss her life and achievements.
In the piece, Harris recounts a story her mother told her while they were attending a civil rights march in Oakland, California when she was just a child.
As the story began circulating the internet and as she told the story on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon – it trended again but this time it was said that the story was first told by Dr. King.
MLK Jr. first told a similar story in a 1965 interview with Playboy magazine saying: “I will never forget a moment in Birmingham when a white policeman accosted a little Negro girl, seven or eight years old, who was walking in a demonstration with her mother.
He continued: “‘What do you want?’ the policeman asked her gruffly, and the little girl looked at him straight in the eye and answered, ‘Fee-dom.’ She couldn’t even pronounce it, but she knew. It was beautiful!
The story would obviously sound better coming from Dr. King – I know people may think it is cute coming from Kamala Harris but what is happening to our country is far from being cute – and that warm and fuzzy approach to leadership is all a smoke screen for what both she and Joe Biden have planned for our country especially for those who believe that Black Lives Matter.
A newly leaked memo is raising concerns that Democrats are only paying lip service to the work of activists involved with the movement for black lives..
The memo was found in the data dumps of WikiLeaks that was written to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee staff in November 2015 by Troy Perry, a former staffer for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Following major demonstrations by Black Lives Matter activists during the primary season, which included disrupting Sen. Bernie Sanders and Gov. Martin O’Malley during the 2015 Netroots conference and a controversial meeting between Hillary Clinton and Boston activists at the end of a New Hampshire event the activists weren’t allowed to attend, the memo outlines ways to interact with activists.
The memo recommends refraining from saying “all lives matter” and talking about “black-on-black crime” as responses to activists, calling both “red herring attacks” and “the worst response.” Staff were also told to meet with activists and listen to them — though invitations to activists “should be limited” and meetings should be “personal and small groups“.
But other parts seem disconcertingly tone-deaf. Black Lives Matter activists were described as “radical.” Meanwhile, despite the pervasive critique that the movement lacks policy recommendations, the memo explicitly tells candidates and campaign staff, “Don’t offer support for concrete policy positions.”
In other words, Democrats were warned to choose their words wisely and don’t commit to any political policies which are being proposed by Black Live Matter.
Dr. King warned people about liberal democrats that contributed to the empathy gaps shared by liberal white voters.
Dr, King was a visionary and he knew that racism was more than just expressing hate openly. He knew of the liberal or the moderate that would go out of their way to pat themselves on the back for not being outwardly cruel to the black people– and that they would expect African Americans to be grateful because they are almost capable of treating them like equals.
That fits Joe Biden actually — while people would shout form the rooftops that President Trump was a blatant and unrepentant racist — there is something worse. The one that pretends to understand the plight of Black America –and creates a theatrical presentation to make you believe he is not a racist –which includes his selection for his Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden is not as slick as he thinks he is. In fact, he’s a cliché, a stock photo, an avatar, for every single liberal white person who believes that just because he’s not a member of the Republican Party or an adherent to the most virulent white supremacist policies, that he can disguise his rancid racism behind his “Aw shucks, I just tell it like it is” performative politic-ng and liberal white America eats it up — and they believe that they are so righteous because of it.
I don’t know how many Spike Lee Movies I have watched– or how many Boondocks cartoons I have been entertained by — I don’t know how many great moments i have had watching Dave Chappelle — I will never know what it is like to be a black man in America.
How they are treated, how they are at times frightened to be who they are.
Comedian Bill Burr, a white guy said it best about the Woke Movement, Gay Pride and Black History month when he said that Gay Pride is in June — a month with great weather and a month much longer than February.
January the coldest month for a holiday and February is Black History month.
Burr said in a standup he did for Saturday Night Live. “That’s a little long, don’t you think? For a group of people that were never enslaved he then suggested that Black History month should be moved to July. “The woke movement was supposed to be about people of color,” he said. “Somehow, white women swung their Gucci-footed feet over the fence of oppression and stuck themselves at the front of the line.”
I thought the same thing about Black Lives Matter — I thought it was supposed to be about people of color — but it turned out that 90 percent of those who participated were white – most of the arrests were made over the summer during the protests were white kids burning down black businesses.
Whatever the message was supposed to be — it got drowned out by the flood of white privilege.
No lives matter when the whole special feeling it is supposed to engender is white washed by Woke white kids that don’t understand that what is really happening is an empathy gap in this country.
I am sure that many of those white kids think that marching with the blacks makes them without guilt in the racial insensitivity category — but the truth is that while many people will say they are not racist because they march — they don’t understand the real problem is an empathy gap.
They believe the myth that a democratic leadership will bring equality to the country but they don’t realize that these political shills have no empathy for blacks or anyone else.
They believe the myth that everyone in white liberal America is open-hearted and has the best interests of people of color.
Outwardly, they project a high sense of concern about inequality and drive toward the mission of social justice for all. But there is little evidence to support this claim. Few are willing to face the reality that empathy for people of color ebbs and flows, depending on its primary target.
Black lives only matter when it is politically convenient.
There is also this sense of Black fetishism in this country where many white liberal voters bend over backwards to try and placate black people. They over praise their accomplishments, they can only relate to them because of sports figures or rap artists they know about — but beyond that it is merely fetishism. Some even act as if the black man or woman should be grateful for what they do for them.
They are the white liberal that try to relate by saying they voted for Barack Obama or talk incessantly about how they loved the Black Panther movie — anything to sound Black relevant.
Black Americans who are not dutiful members of the political establishment, whose job it is to explain away every bumbling and insulting thing the Democratic party’s forced pick spits up – are rightly upset at the fact that Joe’s own words are hoping to forget his racist gaffs and draconian laws he wishes to implement.
Biden seems to think that he has a mythical ‘special relationship’ with the black community and o it allows him to get away with offensive comments.
How many people have forgotten the comments he made about Barack Obama in the New York Observer. He was quoted as saying:
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
It is also a racist statement.
Nothing has better symbolized the capitulation of Black politics than Biden’s choice of a running mate. What exactly are the functions of the vice president? Kamala Harris was District Attorney of San Francisco and California Attorney General. The truth is black people were not all that excited about her record — and now everything has miraculously changed?
Harris even announced her candidacy on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 2019. That and her blindside of Joe Biden on his busing record made it clear she was attempting to lure African American votes by wrapping herself in the cloak of black struggle.
It didn’t sell.
While some members of the self-involved black bourgeoisie nauseatingly praised her, younger blacks and black progressives were taking deeper, dispassionate dives into Harris’ real-world record. They didn’t like what they found.
To the chagrin of her supporters, close examinations of the woman who took pride in the title of California’s “top cop” revealed that Harris had been nothing close to the civil rights warrior she claimed to be. In actuality, she had spent much of her professional life prosecuting and persecuting poor people and minorities.
Harris didn’t stop there. She even fought for a law that would prosecute parents of “habitually truant” elementary schoolers, “despite concerns that it would disproportionately affect low-income people of color.”
Again it is that veneer of “Oh look Joe Biden isn’t racist because look at who he selected as his Vice President.”
Again it demonstrates that there is an empathy gap in liberal politics– and the empathy is strained between white liberals and Black Americans.
Whether it is Kamala Harris previously threatening Black mothers with prison time if their children were truant from school or Joe Biden the architect of the 1994 Crime Bill basically praising James O. Eastland, the long-serving, segregationist, white supremacist Mississippi senator known as “The Voice of the White South,” and the “Godfather of Mississippi Politics.”
You may think that the vote for Biden was a vote for black lives — but it most certainly not a vote for racial empathy.
Throughout his career Biden has represented the democratic party consensus shifting his views to fit whatever best serves his own political career over his 47 years in the senate and then as Vice President Biden was a leading architect of today’s criminal justice system which contributed to mass incarceration and the police misconduct that BLM protestors are fighting back against.
The 1994 Crime Bill drove up the local state and federal prison populations and it tarnished the reputations of Biden and Bill Clinton who signed it into law the mass incarceration created by Biden’s lock-em-up policies ripped apart vulnerable communities and families of color for a generation and the federal funding streams and law enforcement infrastructure it created continue to hinder reform efforts.
Pointing this out now is not going to generate any amount of buyers remorse. But it is worthy of reporting because of what is simply lip service to Black Americans. It is not all about the racial divide – it is about the racial empathy gap.
Now, of course, the Racial Empathy Gap does not directly correlate to a racist attitude or mentality—but it is that plastic and disingenuous lip service and action that is most deplorable.
I once lived in a predominantly black community in Oregon and my first wife as of mixed race and every time you would see a young white liberal justice warrior showing up at a march or chanting Black Lives Matter –not one could be counted on to participate in a service project to restore a black church or even show up at a fundraiser.
Oh you would have the occasional white politician there – but they would only make a quick appearance – and then would uncomfortably leave when people started asking questions about the police and gentrification.
Cleverly, these hollow politicians utilize established and recent “victimized” groups to advance their status. They also have fabricated another group labeled “white supremacists” to create guilt and psychologically disarm the rest of the populace, cementing the would-be dictators’ ascendancy to tyrannical despotism.
Calling those they disagree with Nazis, racists or White supremacists takes the focus off their inability to empathize with the Black community.
Victimization and guilt, both, are instilled into unsuspecting targets by the psychological process of internalization. Individuals with strong rational values will not succumb to mind manipulation, but those lacking reason and judgment will passively internalize ideas and slogans repeated over and over by teachers, politicians, and especially the ever-present mainstream media.
Unconscious mental processes of forced compliance replace independent thinking. People absorb beliefs, feelings, and or attitudes of other individuals or groups, assimilate them, and finally adopt them as their own. Since reason has not been utilized, emotionalism sets in.
It is only emotional for the moment but to put it all into practice once the emotionalism subsides is something else.
The indoctrinated “victims vent their rage at being victims via protests and violence. The indoctrinated guilty keep quiet; they may shudder at what they witness, but if they feel deep inside that they or their ancestors are responsible for causing the victimized to be victims, they are equally controlled.
Now we are at a point where Americans are defending Americans against other Americans and still we are no closer to fulfilling the dream of Martin Luther King Jr.
