Comet C/2017 K2 Headed Towards the Sun
There is a celestial event scheduled to take place in the near future. A comet coming into our solar system from the north called K2 is expected to make a pass by the sun around December 2022. Being of an immense size the comets nucleus is 12 miles across. Its “coma” (Its surrounding mass of particles) is the size of ten earths which is bigger than Jupiter.
Early scientific theory suggested that comets were nothing more than dirty snowballs. However the most up to date research suggests that they are a combination of rock and debris that carries a negative electrical charge. This is in contrast to an asteroid of similar composite carrying a positive charge. Now this is where it gets interesting.
If such a negatively charged mountain comes close to the sun while making its elliptical pass; the disruption to the suns positive charged corona may very well interact in a violent manner due to principles of positive and negative attraction.
The potential threat has been talked about since 2017 when it was first discovered in the night sky.
