It is told that the King James Version was translated with the help of William Shakespeare in an undeclared way, as a ghost writer. That telling is believed to be more than a theory by some scholars because the date of the publication of the KJV coincides with when William Shakespeare was alive. Anyway, the KJV, as most of the Protestant Bibles, besides been mutilated of two books and some entire chapters, such as the story of Susana, is inexact in reproducing the accuracy of the Latin language, which may not be as poetic as the KJV’s theatrical verb.
I read and re-read the Douay-Rheims, as well as have the Biblia Sacra Vulgata (Vulgate) for reference. This Bible of the Douay-Rheims (DRV) is complete.
BTW I read the Book of Enoch (translated in English), and found too that what we learn in that book dating of before the deluge is not essential to our salvation.
