That tip was about the William Ehrhardt House aka the Ehrhardt Mansion in Elk Grove. When Deanna Jaxine Stinson aka Wish Fire and I, approached this impressive house, we both knew that the house has history and it’s most likely haunted. On 5/21/2023, Wish Fire me and our psychic sensitive dogs Story and Champagne investigated this mansion. We were only able to investigate the outside perimeters, because the city of Elk Grove is renovating this historical building. The City of Elk Grove also has a fence around the house, so people can’t enter inside the house. Ghosts don’t always have to be inside a home, they can also be outside of a home. Ghosts used to be people, so they may go inside their former home or walk around outside of their former home. Take me for example, as a living person, I enjoy sitting in the patio outside in my backyard and watch the squirrels that live in my large pine trees. So, if I became a ghost, you will probably find me inside the home and also outside of the home, sitting at the patio. So, it would be logical to investigate outside of the Ehrhardt Mansion. While we were investigation our team’s psychic medium Wish Fire pointed out a little boy ghost looking out the 2nd floor window and I got a whispery “hi” EVP. Could it be John Ehrhardt was saying “hi” to me and is it possible that John Ehrhardt is haunting this home that he loved when he was alive? I captured this EVP at a location that my dogs seemed to get excited and looking at something, that I couldn’t see. I told my dogs to calm down as I did an EVP session and during this time captured the “hi”. Wish Fire seen a misty figure near me when I captured the EVP. Let’s take a look on who John Ehrhardt is. John Ehrhardt was a sheep rancher, who as a young boy crossed the plains in 1852 to come to California. He was a driving force in the early agricultural days of northern California. Ehrhardt was a friend and Today (6/18/2023), I decided to drive by the Ehrhardt Mansion and saw a guy looking at the house and walking around the house. I walked up to this gentleman who does not want to be identified and asked him if he knew of any haunting activities at this home. Come to find out, this guy, who I will call “Bill T” says he lives 3 blocks down from this house and sometimes during the evening when he is walking his dogs, he has seen a light flicker on the 2nd floor. Bill T says there should not be any light on the 2nd floor. In fact there is no electricity in this house. Bill T says that he has taken photos of the house and captured some orbs in his photos and in one photo that he showed me, there were 2 green orbs floating outside of the house. On another night, Bill T heard a man laughing from the 2nd floor window. Bill T says he has no doubt that this house is haunted. Bill T says that he knows of a neighbor that has told him that she was touched by an unseen force. The touching was on her neck and back. The female neighbor says it felt like a strong male hand touching her. Bill T says that this female neighbor will not approach the house any longer. ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL REGISTER: The William Ehrhardt House was built as a dwelling and was used for this purpose from 1914 to 2001. Ehrhardt ordered this kit home from a catalog in 1913, and it was shipped by rail and then brought by wagon to Ehrhardt’s 160-acre ranch. Ehrhardt, with help from two neighbors, built the house. It sits in its original location nestled among two-hundred-year-old Black Oak Trees.
The house is a good example of the American Foursquare (also known as the Prairie Box) style of architecture stemming from Frank Lloyd Wright’s post-Victorian Prairie architecture. Characteristics of the style include: The ranch is gone, replaced by single-family houses. The restored house and a few oak trees survive in a pretty little park named Ehrhardt Oaks Park located at: 4800 Percheron Drive, Elk Grove, CA |
