Zvíkov Castle is one of the Czech Republic’s best-known reportedly haunted castles. If by “Zuikov Castle” you mean Zvíkov Castle, it has a fascinating reputation involving a mischievous supernatural imp, a mysterious tower, and other ghost stories.

The haunted legends of Zvíkov Castle
1. The Zvíkov Imp — Zvíkovský Rarášek
The castle’s most famous supernatural resident is the Zvíkovský Rarášek, a mischievous spirit often described as an imp or devil-like trickster.
According to local folklore, the entity has been blamed for:
- Poking, tripping, or disturbing visitors.
- Causing animals to behave strangely or refuse to enter certain areas.

4. The White Lady and spectral hounds
Other stories associated with Zvíkov Castle include a mysterious White Lady reportedly wandering through the grounds and spectral, fire-eyed dogs said to guard a hidden underground passage.
Such tales fit into the broader tradition of haunted castles in Central Europe, where mysterious apparitions, protective spirits, and cursed locations feature prominently in local legends.

Zvíkov Castle stands in South Bohemia, near the town of Písek, at the confluence of the Vltava and Otava rivers. Its construction began in the 13th century, and it is an important example of early Gothic castle architecture.

There is no conclusive scientific evidence proving that Zvíkov Castle is haunted. Nevertheless, its long history and distinctive local folklore make it an intriguing destination for paranormal enthusiasts.
My verdict: For a paranormal investigation, I would put Zvíkov Castle on the list because of the imp legend and the stories surrounding its towers. An investigation could focus on recording environmental conditions, documenting any reported equipment malfunctions, and distinguishing ordinary explanations from unexplained observations.
