Becca Bodner Discusses Police Response in Ferguson

The shooting death of Michael Brown is raising a national debate about police militarization. When President Obama took the stage to talk about the riots, the first reporter question zeroed in on that same topic. Obama says, police and military should be two very unique organizations. He SAYS, blurring those lines would be a slippery slope and a dangerous proposition. But the FACTS don’t seem to match UP with that SENTIMENT.

Local police departments all over the country are fully equipped with an arsenal of military-issue gear. Armored vehicles. Fully-automatic assault rifles. Gas masks. The same exact weapons used against terrorists in Fallujah are now being pointed right at tax paying citizens.
