BREAKING: Manchin-Toomey Amendment Defeated In Senate

After Pat Toomey touted his gun ownership and NRA A rating, followed by Joe Manchin stating that “if you want to remember those 20 babies and six brave adults in Newtown, you’ll consider voting for this bill” the Manchin-Toomey background check amendment went down to defeat in the Senate this afternoon. The amendment, which needed 60 votes for passage, only drew 54 affirmatives.

By a vote of 54 to 46, the Senate defeated the Manchin-Toomey Amendment to S649, the gun legislation bill which Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) introduced last week. The amendment would have expanded background checks for the purchase of firearms as well as create a commission to study the causes of mass violence in the U.S. There are eight more amendments to be voted on.

I’m sure that this amendment would not have stopped at background checks. The goal of the fascists is for background checks for all gun owners to determine where and who has any guns and then confiscate them.
It actually DID allow for a national registry to be created by the AG (Eric “gun runner” Holder) from retired FFL files. Rest assured they won’t stop and the definition of “mentally ill” will surely become a LOT broader in scope. They are already pinning false crimes on people through NICS who have clean civilian records and having the CITIZEN pay to fix it. They need to fix the current one and actually enforce the current laws, which they don’t now.
Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
The Statement of Purpose from the bill read:
To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo.
Astonishingly, 46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.
