The Senate passed the Medicaid Expansion bill, SB1020 yesterday, April 5, 2013. The vote was 24-9, with all 9 “Nay” votes being Republican.
The Legislature is in session today, Saturday, April 6, so you can start by calling today.
Following are the votes FOR SB1020:
Republicans: Bill Sample, Ronald Caldwell, Johnny Key, David Sanders, Michael Lamoureux, Bruce Holland, John Woods, Jonathan Dismang, Jake Files, Jimmy Hickey
Democrats: Paul Bookout, David Burnett, Eddie Cheatham, Linda Chesterfield, Joyce Elliott, Stephanie Flowers, Keith Ingram, David Johnson, Uvalde Lindsey, Bruce Maloch, Bobby Pierce, Larry Teague, Robert Thompson, David Wyatt
Following are the votes AGAINST SB1020:
Republicans: Cecile Bledsoe, Alan Clark, Jane English, Jim Hendren, Bart Hester, Jeremy Hutchinson, Missy Irvin, Gary Stubblefield, Eddie Joe Williams
Not voting:
Republicans: Bryan King, Jason Rapert
Both GOP leaders have endorsed the plan – Speaker of the House Davy Carter and the Senate leader Michael Lamoureaux. GOP Senator Jonathan Dismang, GOP Senator David Sanders, GOP John Burris, GOP Bruce Westerman, GOP Davy Carter, and GOP Mark Biviano are co-sponsors of the bill to implement Medicaid Expansion. The only Democrat sponsor of the Medicaid Expansion bill at this time is Senator Paul Bookout.
SO THE REPUBLICANS TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF IMPLEMENTING THIS MEDICAID EXPANSION.
IT IS OBVIOUS THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH THE GOVERNOR AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. All REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES RAN CAMPAIGNS OPPOSING OBAMACARE! WAS THE PUBLIC LIED TO?
It takes a 3/4 majority in the House to pass this. Surely we can get 26 Republicans to vote against it.
