Taxes – It’s that time again…

If you thought Americans were under pressure before, it’s about to get worse.  Much much worse.  And its all thanks to a reoccurring oppression that everyone admittedly hates & eventually drives people to revolt, historically.  I’m of course referring to taxes.

Let me ask you:  do you like taxes?  Not a loaded question, just “do you like them?”  Hopefully I’ve attached a poll to this article & you can actually reply, because I’d love to see the response.  I’m going to just take a guess & say it’ll be 100% No, or Dislike.  I’m sure you all would guess the same thing, right?  How about that, we’re all on the same page!  Look at how quickly we can all agree on something political & that’s also an issue that gets raised in Government rather often, yet the Government would seem to think we enjoy being taxed.  Ok, probably not “enjoy.”  But at the very least, they think we all agree that it’s necessary.

Well, how else are we going to build roads?  That’s a fake argument, as private entities built roads FAR before the Government started doing it.  Besides, since when did things improve once the Government started being in charge of it?  I don’t know about where you live, but everywhere I’ve lived had plenty of road problems that either went for a LOOOOONG time without getting fixed, or they half-@$$ed it.

So then what good are taxes?  What are they for?  Why do they keep making new ones?  If you haven’t figured out that the joke is on us, then I guess you don’t feel taxed enough.  Wait a few months.  They’ll think of something.

Like, for example:  The Marketplace Fairness Act.  I’ve seen the Government use that word ‘fairness’ or ‘fair’ in their legislation before.  Since words are only an ease of communication & they don’t mean the same thing to everyone, let me give you a taste of what the Government means when they use the word ‘fair.’  In Illinois, for divorcing couples (this may also regard whether or not the couple has a child, or it may not… I’m not sure on that) there is such a law as ‘Fair Representation.’  This law forces the male to purchase the female a lawyer, IF the male himself can afford to purchase a lawyer.  Does that sound fair?  I suppose you might think it was fair if it went both ways.  BUT IT DOESN’T!  That’s right.  Blatant sexism in Illinois law.  If the female can afford a lawyer & the male can’t, Illinois says “yeah… so what?”
