Recovery From Negativity, Poverty, and Crazy Relationships

1) We admit we have no power over the past and no absolute control over the future, or the lives of other people.

2) We come to believe that a higher power of our understanding can bring us back to a sane state of mind – free of the programmed negativity.

3) We make a decision to learn the conceptual framework, logic, and the practical applications of capitalism and finance.

4) We make a thorough and fearless positive and negative inventory of ourselves.

5) We humbly ask our higher power of our understanding to remove our negative traits especially our residual slave mentality.

6) We ask ourselves what we really, really want to do with our life.

7) We make a decision to be completely committed to doing whatever is necessary to legally get what we really, really want out of life.

8) We make a decision to live in the now, accept what is, and love ourselves.

9) We make a commitment to ourselves, & a higher power of our understanding to increase our education through books media, high school, GED, Jr College, College, and Universities to acquire marketable job & finance skills in order to attain wealth and prosperity.

10) We continue to look at our thoughts, feelings and behaviors and when engaged in negativity, we promptly admit it and change.

11) Through meditation and positive intent, we seek a moment by moment contact with a higher power of our understanding.

12) After becoming spiritually enlightened and financially self sufficient as a result of working the previous steps, we will carry this message to all human beings who are still suffering.

As we contemplate at the state of Africans in America we need to see the necessity of breaking the chains of the slave mentality we need a message on African empowerment that is not wrapped up in religion, sexism, homophobia, and anger; with out substance.

There is no need to continue with the attitude of black militancy with out a plan for our intellectual, spiritual and financial empowerment and enlightenment. What we need is viable alternatives to crime, addiction depression, poverty, and crazy relationships.

The 12 steps for African Americans offer such alternatives.

One of the pivotal aspects of recovery for African Americans is education. As a people we have overcome political –social- and legal hurdles now we need to deal with the issue of economics. And a route to economic empowerment is education. We need to understand that not only can we learn but also we descend from a people that were the creators of higher education and learning. The ancient Egyptians created the first math science, architecture, medicine, universities, art, literature, theater, in deed the foundations of civilization as we know it would be impossible with out the ancient Egyptians.

The ancient Egyptians are the ancestors and forefathers that we need to look to for inspiration. We come from a people older than slavery, older than Jim crow, older than Willie lynch, older than discrimination and segregation, older than prejudice, older than negative stereotypes, older than Europe, older than western civilization, older than Christianity and Islam combined, older than history itself. We have the strongest foundation on the face of the earth. Including all barring none. Our ancestors are the creators of civilization we are the inheritors of the original genius. Claim the birthright of your genius and reach your full potential as a human being.

12 steps for African Americans is a work that has been completed in order to add to the recovery process. It is intended to create a process that helps us stop using drugs and alcohol and to stop our self inflicted negativity so we can move forth and fulfill our destiny as passed down to us from our ancestors the ancient Egyptian. Our destiny is to fulfill our full potential, as human beings .The use of chemicals is only a symptom of deeper residual issues, the 12 steps are a way to heal the deeper issues and un-cloud our minds and awaken our desire for greatness.

The future and past are not real. The future is yet to be created and the past cannot be resurrected. So the main focus of our intention needs to be on living positively in self love now; and not on what other people are doing. We might have to shake old friends and some family. All those who are not positive and helping us move in the direction of fulfilling our full potential as human beings, we need to run away from.When you start to love yourself and completely re-orient your life most people you used to hang out with will not understand. But that is perfectly all right because you need to shake them; this is the first day of rest of your magnificent life.

As we seek serenity in our lives we move in the direction of what strengthens us and away from that which weakens us. The things that strengthens us are our ancestors, our loved ones, healthy living, positive thinking, legal money, positive people, and fulfilling our potential. The things that weaken us are drugs, alcohol, criminal activity, negative people, laziness, unhealthy relationships and living.

As African Americans living is a racist society we need courage. Im not talking about a militant attitude of defiance and hostility. Im talking about the ability to say we are afraid and face our fear and walk through our fears. Courage is the where with all to face fear and move ahead any way. A lot of us have a fear of success and failure so we don’t try. We need to develop our courage to face our fear and move forward anyway.

The problem is that too many of us have been brainwashed into inferiority by a society that has been seduced into mediocrity.
