Primary Graham: Resolution in Support to Replace Lindsey Graham

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

GREENVILLE, S.C. | JOSHUA COOK | JULY 12, 2013 |

The Greenville Post obtained a copy of a resolution circulating between grassroots leaders in the Palmetto State. See document below.

According to POLITICO, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) raised $1.4 million in the second quarter and has $6.25 million cash on hand.

This is a very intimidating amount for any challenger to go up against in 2014, but what about one’s voting record? Those in the conservative circles are focusing on Sen. Graham’s voting record to show how inconsistent he is as a “conservative” Republican. Conservatives who are disappointed with Graham’s record are anxiously waiting for a strong conservative candidate to emerge. After the vetting process, they want to rally around him or her to defeat Graham in the primary.

Resolution in Support of Replacement of Lindsey Graham

Richard Cash announced his candidacy in April to challenge Sen. Graham.

In a recent email Cash stated,

“You probably know that I must file my first FEC report at the end of this week.  It will detail how much money our campaign has raised, and it will be used to determine the viability of our campaign.  You probably also know that Marcia and I have pledged to give $200,000 to this campaign, and that we have given $50,000 already.  Initially, I planned to give another $50,000 by the end of this year, and the rest of it at the beginning of next year.”

There is buzz in conservative circles about the possibility of others who may run against Sen. Graham, Nancy Mace and Sen. Lee Bright.

Nancy Mace is the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina.  She is a small business owner of a public relations and marketing firm, The Mace Group, based in Charleston, South Carolina.
Mace told the Post in June,
“If I have a campaign, I’ll have a strategy, but I don’t as I’m not a candidate. But I think that if anyone is going to primary an incumbent Senator then they need to have a statewide grassroots network. They need to have a message that resonates with not only the one corner of the Republican Party, but all corners of the Republican Party whether you are a veteran, whether you covet the right to life, whether you are Second Amendment supporter, whether you are a tea party person, or a liberty person, or if you are just a regular Republican who is a patriot. It’s going to take someone who can bring folks together. No one that I can tell at this point can raise the amount of money that Senator Graham has in his war chest right now, but I don’t believe that it takes this kind of resources to win a US Senate race in this State. At some point it reaches saturation level and I don’t think it’s necessarily won on TV yet, I think it’s won on the ground in grass roots.”
