Another Reason to Abolish the Police

The heavily armed enforcers of state power are three times more likely to kill someone than private citizens with carry-conceal permits.

Think about that for a second. Cops are trained intimately with firearms; how to use them properly, clean them, and how to keep them safe. Ditto for people with carry-conceal permits.

It is telling what a fancy uniform, badge, and virtually no accountability for where the bullets land will do to the mentality of the person wielding that gun.

I think that this statistic and analysis lends a lot of credence to the libertarian arguments against state power and in favor of individuals in the marketplace providing goods and services – and dealing with crime.

John Lott was right: the only proven way of reducing crime in society is giving private individuals the right to openly carry firearms. And while we’re at it, for the sake of safety and liberty, let’s abolish state police as well.
