Radio Host Takes Media & Gun Control Supporters To Task...Says Having A Gun Can Save Your Life

While today marks the third anniversary of the shooting in Tucson, one broadcaster is taking the gun control supporters to task for using the incident to press for more gun laws. Radio host Nohl Rosen (better known to feline fans as the Cat Protector) didn’t waste any airtime today to give his thoughts about the issue and the media’s handling of the situation, which didn’t shock any of the listeners who listened to Morning Meows this morning on Cat Galaxy.

“Once again we see the gun control supporters remembering another tragedy as a reason for responsible gun owners to give up their guns. Why isn’t the media giving any coverage to the other side of the issue where having a gun can actually save a life? Are they afraid of the truth? The media claims they’re fair and balanced but that would be incorrect. It seems pretty clear they’ve done nothing but demonize responsible gun owners and aren’t willing to hear from the other side of the fence. If it isn’t the Tucson shooting, it’s Sandy Hook. The fact is having a gun and knowing how to use it can save your life. More people die and are wounded as a result from automobile accidents than they are from guns but I don’t see people pushing to get rid of cars,” Rosen said.

Rosen is an outspoken advocate for the Second Amendment and has recently started a movement online called Cats For The Second which mixes his love of cats with his likeness for guns. Rosen says he believes in an individual’s right to carry and says he’ll keep fighting to uphold it.

“The Second Amendment gives us that right to keep and bear arms. It doesn’t state we have the right to keep and bear arms as long as we go through a background check. The bad guys certainly don’t go through them and if you take the guns out of the hands of responsible gun owners then all that does is make crime a safer occupation for the criminals. That’s something the gun control advocates always seem to ignore when that point is made to them. Besides, how will more gun laws help stop the criminals? The truth is it doesn’t. Whenever a state or municipality passes a strict gun law, violent crime goes up. That’s another point the gun control advocates won’t concede and one the media won’t listen to or even present to their audiences,” Rosen added.
